472 limit filled. My take on the share price weakness it that , if you are looking for long term holds , then most of the undulations of share price are irrational and irrelevant . Good for traders though.

BAE not at Paris this year, which may be a part of the reason for down turn. Eurofighter is not getting the orders hoped for but BAE are a partner and Typhoon (lack of) sales will not help. But then the Land and Sea businesses are not suffering as much as Air..... All IMHO

I can't really see why the stock is (under/inline)performing the broader market given the defensive nature of the company, the high yield the stock offers and the USD exposure and the analysts' 2016 estimates have remained remarkably stable since September.

Any disappointing feedback from the Paris Air Show? Any issues surrounding the F35? Or Eurofighter Typhoon / Rafale competition?

All views welcome.

You maybe right . I only set a one day limit order by accident , so re-instated it today at a more ambitious 472.

Another buy order for 476 set. FTSE in a bit of a dip that I don't think will sustain whatever happens in Greece.

Rather pleased with my 495 buyback yesterday. I think a Tory majority is a strong play for the defence sector even if a lot of BAE business is overseas. I don't think this has factored into the share price enough yet , currently 512.

I also just realised that I accidentally put in a double order (I had forgotten an old limit) so bought twice. Excellent!

Yesterday's AGM statement looked positive , but share price sinking today ?fears of an SNP related Trident decommission?

I will buy some more back soon I think.

Ian King, Chief Executive, will say: "Our business is making good progress in 2015. We continue to win new business, meet key milestones on our major programmes and develop technologies and skills that underpin our future success."

Other than for exchange translation, trading for the period has been consistent with management expectations at the time of the 2014 results announcement and the Group's outlook remains unchanged. The Group's underlying earnings per share are expected to be marginally higher than in 2014, including some reliance on anticipated naval and aircraft orders.

Following the strong performance in the first half of 2014 that resulted from good programme execution on the Typhoon programme, trading performance in 2015 is expected to have greater second half bias.

The results of voting at the AGM will be announced later today.

Key points in 2015 to date:

-- GBP112m extension to Typhoon Availability Service contract until early 2016;

-- GBP165m contract to deliver capability enhancements for the Eurofighter Typhoon, with an order value of GBP72m for BAE Systems;

-- GBP859m demonstration phase for the Royal Navy's Type 26 global combat ship programme;

-- Selected by Boeing to provide the Remote Electronic Units for the 777X aircraft, resulting in the Group developing the complete suite of flight control electronics for the aircraft's fly-by-wire system;

-- In 2014, BAE Systems was selected for the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle III and Family of Weapon Sight-Individual (ENVG III/FWS-I) programme. The awards, worth up to $434m over five years, were subsequently protested. The most recent protest has now been denied, enabling the contract to proceed.

-- Completion of disposal of 75% interest in Land Systems South Africa for a cash consideration of approximately GBP36m;

-- Strategic assessment initiated of manpower and services businesses within the US-managed Intelligence & Security sector;

-- BAE Systems continues to review the future shipbuilding outlook in its Australian business to assess the options to address an anticipated workload reduction later this year with the completion of the Landing Helicopter Dock programme:

-- BAE Systems 37.5% share of recent contracts signed in Egypt and Qatar by the MBDA guided weapons joint

Limit buybacks set 505 , 503 , 493. I think the share price weakness is irrational.

2 filled within the hour , not sure if the 493 will be reached this week?

"Shares in aerospace and defence group BAE Systems were trading lower on Thursday after the stock went ex-dividend, though UBS was providing further downwards pressure after cutting its rating from 'buy' to 'neutral'"

UBS Downgrade as well I see.

s2,
Thanks for that. My SB is now Lloyds, but i do also have a residule (as in shares that have made too much of a loss) with HSBC. I see where you are coming from and need to find more time for this. Looks like i dont have as much time free in retirement as I was hoping for!...........P.S, one of those residule shares is OXB, held since 2002 and topped up (a lot) through to 2007. Take a look at them now, might not be such a loss leader very soon ;-)
