Good first reaction to The Times story this morning, share price very much on the rise. Be interesting to see how things go today.

I agree. Offer needs to be better but Serco can't afford it.

At nil premium merger looks opportunistic and a non starter to me, BAB is in the process of simplifying and focusing on improving margins which is the right approach in service sector. Serco merger would reverse that strategy. However any bid talk may frighten shorters in what is imo an unjustified high short position.

This would fit in with Serco strategy at the moment. It would be great if Serco could ditch some of its poor business, most of which is in this country.

Not sure on the %age of Rail work here, but I do know that rail spending will be slow for at least the next 18 months - i.e. they might be on various frameworks, but this is a dud market to be in, at least until Network Rail release money from their CP6 plan.

Nothing new in the language and if you believe the FCF / EPS projections there is no problem covering the present dividend. And if they are telling massive porkies about FCF then there seems little point in using weasel words about the dividend. Geddit?

Other than that they're concerned , like everyone else, that the dividend as it currently is, won't be well covered. That would mean it would have to be CUT in order to be 'sustainable'.Geddit?

Sustainable Dividend: Bab have always specified that the dividend should be well covered. So nothing new in respect of reference to Sustainable Dividend.

It's a magazine for the refit team. Unclassified. I am worried. I care.

I sold mine when they made reference to a sustainable dividend as a financial goal.
