Tuned in @10:00 this morning for the Capital Markets Day webcast but was kept waiting for 14 minutes. I was unimpressed by the ceo's waffling (with a heavy accent) and cfo's slow talking.

Not exactly sure what is meant by "sustainable dividend" in the future. Is that code for "rebased" which in turn is NewSpeak for "cut"?

I have sold out at £4.72 booking a hefty loss
I dont find the latest updates very inspiring and the high number of short positions also concerns me
time will tell if this was a good or bad decision

That story is old, buy the dips and accumulate, that’s what I have been doing. I have been doing the same with (STX) since 30’s, now expecting it to double after 27 July, dyor as always on both of these. Happy days!

Yep but a very solid downward trend suggests selling into the rally is the smart trade here.

Yes, its easy to become a victim of the sunk cost fallacy if you don't really know what capacity a business has to recover, which needs a lot of thought about the business, not the share price

It's only cost you dear if you need to sell the asset. The earnings stream was respectable at 600p and is very attractive at these prices. ;)

Too many focus on the share price and not the underlying business.

By focusing on the share price you are just watching the behaviour of shorters who play on fear and propaganda with little facts and a short-term vision.

Item, cost him dear ?, Have you not taken account of the money Neil
has earned since founding his fund management company!.
He's earned 10's of millions.

What you might mean is...it's potentially cost holders of his funds dearly.

Would not be surprised if he sells out in a year or two and just
enjoys his wealth.

chopp1 the trouble is people were writing exactly the same as you when this share was in the 600's. Now it needs to go up 50% just to get back there.

Calling the market as being wrong is a dangerous tactic on a big freely traded liquid share such as this. It's cost Neil Woodford dear these last few years.

A decent lift this morning........

As has been stated above..... difficult to see why bab is treated so harshly at every turn.

The possibility of an opportunistic foreign power having a bearing on the subject is not beyond the bounds of possibility in this day and age.

Excellent dip buying yesterday and this morning, will be back over 500p after May has gone! Imo. Same buy the (STX) dips ahead of game changing FDA news 27 Jul imo dyor as usual some nice opportunities abound after a market sell off.

TraderBus. You need to be holding on 4/7, which is the XD(ex dividend) date. You can sell it ON 4/7 and still get the dividend-but if you sell it on 3/7, or earlier, you won't be eligible for it. The pay day for the dividend is 9/8(though some brokers can take a day or two longer to credit it).
