Brexit needs to end PDQ and get the pound stronger and start creating an environment of real cost to these get rich quick merchants.

I wish this PE sector would be put out of its misery. Taking all the good companies/opportunities and leaving the small investor with either expensive shares or rubbish.

I'm not interested in a quick return at the expense of decent long-term future.

Minerve2 Agree and took the opportunity to top up while it was overdone yesterday. I did think that it would take a little longer to recover but now on the correct trajectory IMHO.

The step down was known about which gives opportunity to buy in or add. I'm reasonably confident that the end markets they find themselves in will provide good stability long-term. A 6% yield is good enough and sustainable to be patient here.

Think about the main end markets:

Aerial emergency - general increasing desire for humans to adventure and travel and increasing wild fires due to climate change.
Defence services - increasing maintenance requirements on new and old ships with increasing defence budgets in developed nations.
Nuclear - Massive backlog of old tech decommissioning including military and civil nuclear.

+ New ship builds designed for export.

They should be able to meet their divisional targets of circa 5% CAGR over the medium term.

Bit of an overreaction to reasonable figures. The step down was known about with the end of the carrier contract and the pipeline looks strong. Suspect that it will recover this loss in the coming weeks.

The Ministry of Defence has suspended the controversial £1bn international tender for three Royal Navy support ships, raising hopes that the major naval contract will be reserved for UK shipyards.

Common sense at last?

And up we go again.

Think there might be a bit of nervousness surrounding the margins on the frigates, quite rightly.

Onwards & upwards into the 600’s, a nice safe haven for those earlier sub 500p bargain hunters.

I guess it is what's called it a relief rally.
I'm not familiar enough with this sector to know whether
1) Brexit
2) Gov other policies (e.g. MOD) that aren't influenced in same way
is a constant or whether there are projects/spending currently on hold by gov pending a post Brexit vision and removal of the unknown factor, as is the case with many other businesses.

I'm expecting gov to start spending on projects, but don't know if they are of type that BAB may benefit from.
I am also given to believe some of BABs work (e.g. submarine de-commissioning) is something that's not normally influnced by politics.
I therefore don't feel I have the same informed perception of this sector compared to others.

Atleast they aren't mentioned as being party to Hinkley point C and the over-spend in todays news.

Dr SmithCorrect but just to be continuing to win contracts or for the contracts to be there to win gives a much needed confidence boost in this sector.I agree with you that the share price woefully undervalues this company but reflects confidence therefore in line forecasts are not priced in.

Please elaborate - I assume you mean order pipeline, that is "in line"?

Dr Smith. I think the market in a sector which has taken a battering, was reassured by the in line with expectations but what is driving the price rise is the pipeline success.Retaining their investment grade status is also important in raising debt at a sustainable rate.
