1spotter Thanks for your reply. It would be interesting to know why you think these companies are worth shorting and what is on your list. I have BAB, BAE and RR. as core holdings (long). I also have Boeing and United Technologies in the US.

alanr1 Thanks for the links. I did originally read those articles. Bryce Elder is someone who I regard highly at the FT. He didn't write the article to which the Investor Relations Director replied to. I think the concern about accounting is a non-issue here. They have already stated they meet IFRS 15 and that is the end of that. I agree that their accounting is relatively conservative to other outsourcers and they are being branded unfairly with a bad bunch. The fact there has to be NO adjustments can't be underestimated. I think it is very commendable in this day and age and shouldn't go unnoticed.

Not to worry 1spotter, I posted the links. The share price imo has now gone down too low. Not a share to short now imo.

What on earth are you on about, 1spotter? The share price has been falling for the past 4 years!! "Happy to be proven wrong" - LOL you ARE wrong.

Well, last year's dogs often turn into the next year's stars... and there's only a few trading days of 2017 left now. Onwards and upwards!! Looking forward to big recoveries in BAB, GSK and PFC, to name but three.

1spotter - fanastic timing, just hours before a £95M contract award! What a buffoon.

Tend not to get many bashers when share prices are high - there's no face credibility in that. Perhaps now the algorithms will decide the bottom has been reached and embark on a steady programme of buying...

Another contract award today. I suspect that the negative posts from 1spotter would be absent if the share was trading at £9. Share price drops seem to attract detractors !

You could post the same vacuous drivel about any stock on the planet. Don't bother with another puerile post - you're history.

The company will not generate cash as expected, in my view. The MoD is so strapped for money it's unbelievable. Profitability will be driven down. We also need to check on contract performance, which is very obfuscated to say the least. Say no more.

Don't totally understand some of that and have read neither article or answer but .. it sounds bad, is this why the disclosed shorts have gone up? to 3.55%, not that I totally understand the % bit either, other than I see negative views out there.

Woodhawk, thank you for your kind sobriquet towards me. However, not often I've seen an Investor Relations Director write a letter to the FT to contest comments in an article that appeared one week earlier. That article was almost spot on. She seems to protest too much, methinks. Looks like the corporate system is bracing itself. Check out how goodwill amortisation boosted ratios from 2007 until the rules changed in 2015. BTW, love you too.

Perhaps stock holders should plan for and expect a profit warning early in the New Year. Just a feeling from someone who watches defence support providers and related contractors in these complex times.
