Minerve. Good post. Computers are now doing the trading . Fundamentals have gone out of the window. I don't know what the answer is except to grind it out and hope that old style investment principles return. Meanwhile I can live at 4% .

My hunch, fwiw, is that this is the final capitulation stage of the long decline since early 2014. The share price has now fallen more than 50% over that period.I usually find it most rewarding to buy shares when they are very unloved - like this. I just hope I'm not too premature.

I am so sick of checking the share price everyday on this share, down 40 grand for no discernable reason, all the fundamentals are as reasonable now as when bought in January and this has been confirmed by the board twice since. What don't we/I know?? The blurb of overwhelming broker 'strong buys' in Jan stated that BAB is relatively immune from defence cuts due to the very nature of it's maintenence contracts, I did all my homework about all the fundamentals and priced in currency issues too. Ex div today doesnt explain another 3%+ drop so what don't we know?? Someone has just told me 'the market doesn't like certain shares'! Am I dreaming?

I wonder what the chances are of BAB being taken over if the share price remains so ridiculously depressed. Any likely bidders at this now 6-year low?

At what stage would BAB consider buying back their own shares at these ridiculous prices, even if it means taking on more debt?

Yes, starting to hurt a bit now. I've got quite a few of these. If it doesn't find support here, it could easily lose another pound or so. There's either a big seller offloading quietly, or a large undisclosed short. AKO and Marshall Wace have only got 2.02% between them. Feels that there's more than that about. No reason to sell, but it's really irritating when this happens to one of your holdings. A fifteen pence swing so far today. What's that done to the market cap?

Yes, bonkers and pathetic at the same time. I would buy more but I am already at the limit I set myself.

LOL. Even thinking about it probably counts as a serious offence these days.

No, not alone... equally suffering over here too. I’m too heavily committed to put any more in, but that does leave me sitting on a high % paper loss. All too often I cashout too early just to find that if I’d held my nerve I’d have made back the losses within a couple of months. I’m trying to not fall into the same trap again, but at the moment there doesn’t seem to be much scope for a reversal of fortunes :/
