29/11/2007 12:26 | hiya all very hard to call the bottom hey, nice rally on the dow yesterday but i am remaining very cautious. still shorting the weaker stocks, data from the US yesterday came in not to good ("below expected") so i cant see the reason for the rally up -except the growing prospect of a fed interest rate cut, last time the fed cut rates we had a super one day rally follwed by a bigger drop the next day ! I for now am making more money from shorts (something i never used to do!) so going to continue untill the market really does take a steady climb up based on real reasons to indicate why. Would be very very happy to re-take a position back in AXO then & also happy to lose a little of the upside first. | ![]() adyjudge

29/11/2007 10:29 | Dollar Rises Against Euro, Pound on Outlook for U.S. Growth By Stanley White and Ron Harui Nov. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The dollar rose against 14 of the 16 most-active currencies as a rally in global stocks spurred optimism growth in the U.S. economy can withstand a housing slump. The U.S. currency gained after China Investment Corp., the $200 billion sovereign wealth fund, signaled it may invest in finance companies hurt by loan defaults. The dollar also rose against the euro and British pound before a report that may show the economy grew faster in the third quarter than analysts forecast. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Chief Economist Jim O'Neill said the dollar's slide may soon end. ``We wouldn't be surprised if the dollar does stage a recovery by year-end,'' said Ashley Davies, a currency strategist in Singapore at UBS AG, the world's second-largest foreign-exchange trader. ``U.S. economic data has not been as weak as what current bearish sentiment would suggest.'' nice.............. ;-)))))))))))))) | blockbuy
