well the NAS has regaind 23 of the 30 odd points it lost yesterday..........the DOW holding 40points + following all the day's economic data.............

lets see if Axon can get back some of the ground back to 880.............doing well so far.........

one of the chaps here is thinking about opening a pie/pasty shop lunchtime thing...........he bought a one of his homemade pastys in............size of a plate and tastes great!!!!

anyhow................looks like that sell order placed at 14.24 has nearly been completed.........jump from 855 to 863 once he's gone............the mms are happy to take it without budging.............

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Rise on Gain in September Retail Sales

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures gained after retail sales rose in September more than economists forecast, bolstering speculation that the economy will keep growing.

McDonald's Corp., the world's largest restaurant company, advanced after reporting profit that topped analysts' estimates. BEA Systems Inc. jumped after Oracle Corp. offered to buy the software maker. Citigroup Inc. slipped after Deutsche Bank Securities advised selling shares of the biggest U.S. bank.

Standard & Poor's 500 Index futures expiring in December increased 1.3 to 1566.5 as of 8:58 a.m. in New York. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 24 to 14,110 and Nasdaq-100 Index futures added 4 to 2170.75.

U.S. retail sales expanded by 0.6 in September, more than the 0.2 percent projected by economists polled in a Bloomberg News survey, providing more evidence the housing slump won't send the economy into a recession. A separate report showed producer prices excluding food and energy gained less than estimated.

McDonald's increased 64 cents to $56.89. Preliminary net income was 89 cents a share, the company said, as new coffees and chicken snack wraps spurred sales. Thirteen analysts in a Bloomberg survey estimated 78 cents.

BEA Systems surged $4.40 to $18.02. Oracle, the world's third-largest software maker, said it would pay $6.7 billion, or $17-a-share, in cash. That's 25 percent more than BEA's closing price yesterday. Oracle fell 3 cents to $22.43.

ah, Aveva, I'll take Aviva off my list and replace..............good luck on those others..............

right then.....what's happened since I went to lunch..........a couple of sellers I see............and then another bounce off 850.........great....

and what's that I see.......better than expected US retail sales relesed a little while ago and the US futures are up 35 already....also seen the trading statement from barclays released 6 mins ago????.....up they go..........

could turn out to be a decent day afterall...........

I think it was Aveva (AVV) mentioned the other day, also in that S&P Global Challengers list you linked. AU. was another. Welcome aboard if you now hold.

Had a quick look at the other 19 UK stocks in the S&P list. Already hold 4 but cut the rest down to 4 to watch and one to buy - Connaught (CNT). FY results due out on 16th Oct.

morning mr, sm..........yep, FTSE already recovering......quit rapidly now.....more and more blue now............

check this out...........I've got 2 stocks you may not remember on my watchlist.....Broker Network and SMC Group..........they along with Axon were the cover feature in January's Investors Chronicle.......The Super Small Caps edition..........remember?

These 3 stocks were shortlisted with Axon being number 1 (of course ;-) )............the other two are sharing differing fortunes.........SMC is troubled and BNH is going from strength to strength..............well look at their rns's today............one is being made and offer and the other the talks have broken down (private equity firm still intersted)........no real reason for pointing it out.....just interesting from my point of view the differing fortunes of the 3 stocks on the same shortlist.............

morning all............well that was some turnaround stateside lastnight............looks like internet companies got hit...........that chineese google type one mainly...........also sandisk............quite a bit off the NAS and the DOW gave a few back............

low volume overnight US trades going through causing the drop this morning imo which no doubt triggered a stop or too......but the volume is very low........an oppo when it all calms down a little later imo...........

still looking to be a very good week overall though...............

volume is deceiving as it's been rather a quiet day for Axon today............mostly the activity has been around the large caps.............

looking at the mms closing where they closed lastnight and opened this morning and afterhours of 880.............a very decent consolidation day............

push for 900 tomorrow maybe???????????

and true to it's word the US opens up with strength...narrower than expected trading gap adding to the good news...................

Cap Gemini, Capita both up again with Logica and SAP off just a couple..........Axon bouncing around the midpoint distance between the mms...........
