19/8/2021 09:56 | Yes, I think the fundamentals are good but the issue was always around the PER. In any share, you are paying today for tomorrow's profits and there is no room for error when the PER is very high. AVON's orders may only have been deferred, not lost, but in DCF terms the timing of cash received is as important as how much. Like r200, I have held for a long time (19 years for the original tranche!) and don't plan to sell, but I think realistically that, whilst profits may recover, the market will be wary of applying such a high rating in future. | jeffian
19/8/2021 07:16 | Much of these delays and issues are short term, forward order book looks good and it's a well run company manufacturing essential products. I have held for over a decade and have been waiting for another buying opportunity, this is it.Just Need the dust to settle a bit and I'll be topping up. | r2oo
18/8/2021 20:57 | Because of computer trading and algorithms , chart patterns form and do tend to form repeat shapes if one learns to look for them Look for example what happened in December last IMO we are now at the half way point --- similar to that two sage drop dyor | buywell3

18/8/2021 11:24 | Probably best to wait to confirm the turn and miss some of the initial profit potential to help de-risk. A bottom is usually only clear in a rear-view, untl then it could be tomorrow, next week, next month. | p1nkfish
18/8/2021 11:00 | And on the other side a buy or buys of 1m... Is the consensus that this is a good company with fairly solid fundamentals, currently having to navigate short term issues not of their making? Can the management turn this ship around? I'd like to think this is a company with a future and that its worth investing in (or at least trading), though I am not sure at what price or when (though definately not today). Possible relegation from FTSE 250 is a dark cloud on the horizon. Be interesting to know when/if funds that shorted a couple of months ago exit and at what price. EPS is a little scary for an investor, past performance and possibly a degree of over selling could be attractive to a trader. I think there will be an eager crowd waiting to reboard though their numbers and enthusiam is yet to be determined. | walkernbudgie

17/8/2021 19:46 | Multiple went to an incredible level, mentioned it on the SHA board a few months back. I looked at this years ago and could not see a buy case, at the time the share price was under £2 a share!. Those who bought and held from around Q1 2010 are still up over 2,000% at today's close, not including dividends. Anyone sensible sitting on large gains would have had a stop loss triggered long before today. Some extraordinary money has been made here. Not by me unfortunately. | essentialinvestor
17/8/2021 19:25 | They will be reducing as market cap falls, down to zero if ejected. Don't know if there are any particular dates on which they reduce or if adjusted daily. | p1nkfish
17/8/2021 18:14 | Suspect index funds now selling as almost certain to be ejected from FTSE250. | 18bt

17/8/2021 15:57 | pipeline, "confident" is not a comittment. It's a BS throwaway term cast to the market to keep readers on side. "Optimistic" is another one. | p1nkfish
