My fears yesterday now appear unwarranted.
But nice to be proved wrong.

Tomorrow's opening is not going to be pleasant.
Given avon's recent weakness I fear it may hit harder than others.

Looks like my purchase earlier today was slightly premature.
This could easily go sub £30 especially if we have a no deal.
But long term I'm relaxed - this a good company and will recover.

Is this also suffering the effects of II movements to value stocks?.....it's now on a forward PE of 24, which for Avon is low but perhaps not low enough for a value play.Sold last week after results as organic growth has stalled completely and was looking very expensive.Tempted to get back in now, quality company, but will sit on hands for a while until it's settled.Good luck holders.

these sort of set back are always going to happen at some point for a company like Avon working in a highly specialised manufacturing field. I sold half my holding close to the top of the price range. Wish I had waited a little longer before buying back in at around £37. For me it is probably one to just hold for the long term now and perhaps top up as and when the picture and the price strengthens. A company that can adapt from making tyres from rubber all the way through to specialist military equipment has some strong underlying entrepreneurial value.

haha lets hope so but I think it will dip below.
First headlines were 'Jeffries sees 20% drop' yesterday contradicted in the above article. They are actually positive over the next 2 years.
Good time to add.

Down 20% as couldnt have timed it worse than coming in 2 weeks ago. Time to get rid? Or is this going to make a comeback? Yesterdays news wasnt good, im hoping its an overreaction to it ?

very likely now. for one thing they will be taking all the stops out from those that bought in the 3000 - 3200 yesterday. Concerning that there wasn't the usual bounce back after these kind of drops.

Regardless of this blip which often happens to any company, AVON is a must to have in any portfolio. I think within weeks the share price will recover and I agree this is far too overdone. It is also a strong hold for the medium to long term.

Ask yourself this extremely simple question:

Was the news worth a 20% drop?

YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER, DO YOU?
