26/11/2009 08:25 | Edison expecting 61% jump in eps this year to 18p..PE now 5.5x at 100p.Way too cheap imo | nurdin
26/11/2009 07:35 | Agreed. Accompanied by a pretty positive statement. The cash generation is pretty impressive (even if some came from sale and leasebacks). Further reduction in debt in the current year should lead to resumption of dividend payments. | 18bt
26/11/2009 07:25 | Excellent results...EPS at 12.5p well beat Edisons estimate of 11.2p.Outlook statement pretty bullish too...:o) | nurdin

16/11/2009 10:24 | Could we go back to using one of the threads with charts? Not sure why this old one has been resurrected. | jeffian
16/11/2009 10:19 | Ready to rock here :o) | nurdin
13/11/2009 08:42 | MM still doing people over with the spread. If you are with self trade take my advice and dont trade automacally contact the selftrade desk and hagle for the best price. The Trader actually said if you can get that price I sugest you take it. After telling him to do his job and contact the top two brokers and offer my buy price I saved 3%. This is a slow burner but on the way up | ch1ck

21/10/2009 17:29 | Hi Glasshalfull. I hadn't noticed the Edison note till today - after I bought. Been watching these for weeks with a view to buying - saw it ticking up so have been buying for the past week - looked like it's setting up to rally here with a month to the results so had more today. The Edison note was a nice surprise. The net assets here, even stripping out the intangibles is higher than the market cap - and a lot of those are property and plant. Agree about BPI - in there at 120p and Edison's note was spot on - bodes well for these imo. CR | cockneyrebel
21/10/2009 16:51 | Ha ha. Have to laugh. I also noticed the AVON write-up yesterday and was researching it when I noticed your post CR. Not much gets past you. The investment case reminds me of the BPI proposition at the beginning of the year, which proved to be an excellent investment. SImilarities in that it was an Edison note that also sparked my interest. BPI also had a significantly higher NAV and managment focusing on maximising cashflow to reduce net debt. Both have underwent cost savings and asset sales with AVON having further disposals in mind as economic conditions improve. The Edison note also penciled in considerable upside that duly arrived for BPI and have implied considerable upside for AVON If AVON deliver the figures mooted then this will undoubtedly be a bagger from here. Needless to say I availed myself of a few. Need to be faster off the mark as nothing escapes you CR :-) Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
21/10/2009 15:16 | Yes, CR. I saw that and picked up a few. New US Defence contract seems worth a bit and share price target range from 153p to 187p. PE today around 7 falling to 4.4p on those figures. | doubleorquits
21/10/2009 12:59 | Interesting note out from Edison on Monday - forecasting 11p eps for 09 and 18p eps for 2010 Says 'putting Avon at a sector average multiple on 2010 numbers implies 187p share price' Results in a month - interesting note to come out just a month before imo. CR | cockneyrebel
21/10/2009 10:31 | Buy recommendation in IC last week and mentioned in Money Week as a stock to buy. This is one of only three stocks in my portfolio ticking up during a general market down turn today. | ch1ck
15/9/2009 09:55 | Although a long term holder, I have to say I'm not a huge fan of this management. It would be nice if they could convert all this 'good news' into £££ on the bottom line, but something always seems to get in the way. I'm not sure what to make of the sale-and-leaseback - which simply swaps a property asset for a long-term rental obligation to achieve a one-off gain. One would have hoped the gas mask contracts would be throwing off cash like crazy by now, rather than selling off the family silver at the bottom of the market to raise a couple of £mio. I'll stick with it for recovery, but I can't help thinking a brighter management would have done better over the past few years. Regards, Ian | jeffian
15/9/2009 08:29 | Fantantastic news on another contract being signed this should push through £1 in the near tearm | ch1ck
11/9/2009 14:31 | Started to buy back some stock as it does not look as if we are going to see much more of a fall in the price | ch1ck |
