16/6/2004 14:11 | So you base all your investment decisions on the shape of a chart, disregarding all upcoming earnings announcements, changes to the status of companies, changes in the resource definitions etc etc. Interesting. I guess such an approach has the merit of simplicity, but I struggle to think of any other advantages to such a method. | mieke
16/6/2004 14:11 | Rule No1 Never bet against the trend, cos it's your best friend If you do you'll get hit in the end. Well I say it's in down-trend who can explain how it is in up-trend? Surely there must be some financial guru's here you have just been buying have you not. B | biswell

16/6/2004 14:03 | Just take a look at the chart for AVM it is down trending. The scale 85p to 30p masks just how steep the trend is, which is why it is there I guess to mislead. If someone wants to convince me AVM is in up-trend please feel free. B | biswell

16/6/2004 13:58 | Biswell - I am intrigued by your apparent lack of logic in predicting a fall in AVM in the near term (ie next 2 months). Given that Greenspan has gone on record yesterday AGAIN as saying that the authorities plan to take it nice and gently interest rate wise a great deal of the near term heat of interest rate rises supporting the US$ rise is dissipating. In all probability then, given the fact not much is improving security wise in the world by far the most likely outcome is that POG will continue to bounce around between $375-390 between now and the end of July. However unfortunately for those with a bearish short term view of AVM there are some rather red letter results for AVM up coming on July 21st, which will include record profits, a historical PE of 9, upward revisions in resources, and upwardly revised production figures. Now given that the major potential bear factor in the next 6 weeks (a falling POG) appears nullified, whilst in contrast the attractions of the bullish factors continue to grow, where an earth is the logic of your position re: the AVM share price short term? at best someone who was bearish on AVM would be wise to sit on the fence at this juncture - making a case for an AVM price fall at this juncture just seems contrary for contrariness sake. | mieke

16/6/2004 13:53 | Trouble with you guys you are too quick on the 'buy' button, you need to learn a little more control, gold is still firmly in down trend mode and investors are unloading as the kitco chart shows, yesterday was just a blip V the $, and some of you bought in it, when you should have sat tight and waited for $345. In other words you are trigger happy chappies, try taking up Yoga B | biswell
16/6/2004 13:47 | Yes in fact it looks like if all parts of the deal are taken to fruition it seems that in fact AVM could actually end up with in excess of £500,000 as profit from the transaction which would boost eps by over 10% in the year ending March 2005. Nice. | mieke
16/6/2004 13:46 | Just keep watching that POG chart then Ash. B | biswell
16/6/2004 13:44 | lol bb. go easy on biswell with the gifs ;-) did u short AVM again bis LOL!!!!!!!! | thenry
