Bigger picture. EU looks like it’s starting to implode to me. Far right gaining ground blaming the migrants, french people think the EU will pay for early retirement, Italy massive debt owed to French banks, anti EU feeling growing across member countries. No country absolutely no one is making a profit out of it. Trade deal do not need to be done by a club with billions of pounds annual membership fee. Germany can not afford to not have a trade deal with us, the French don’t buy VW, Audi, Merc or BNW like we do. We drink French wine and eat their cheese, the list goes on.
Best out of it before it collapses into the chaos it’s heading for. Wait a bit and the Euro will be trashed, those debts ain’t going away because they found a new carpet to hide them under.
EU was a great idea done very badly, no one wanted a change in their identity just friendly trade deals and self government without a whacking great bill to feed the inefficient machine. Let’s see what rides from the ashes, we might have some say and control over that.

@Essential.

Me too. Missed the lows as bought GSK instead. Which I then sold too early but didnt invest in AZN.

Cant win them all.

Of the three I'd say Pfizer is the most undervalued, AZN the most fairly valued.
GSK in between.

Pfizer too big and oh so pedestrian so concur, GSK looks the best bet of the three.
Looking to nibble on weakness as sold way o early previously.

Indeed. My partner works for AZN so I normally get little tidbits from her and have traded and taken dividends from the stock successfully over the years. I just can't help thinking that GSK is on the edge of the long awaited recovery.

We shall see.

GSK pedestrian compared to Astra Zeneca which has had a storming run last time I looked. Every day news about a phase 2 or 3 trial, majority coming out positive..

Pfizer also might be an interesting one Spud to lock in,and forget about.

Having freed up 6 figs from the GNK takeover (once I sell as awaiting a counter bid) I'll be averaging down on this along with my other holdings. Want to buy back Glaxo but the price keeps rising....spud

Cheers for the new thread Spud.
Suspect once Brexit is done and dusted (assuming it is clean and not an obfuscation) then this will indeed be bargain time..

Referendum was only advisory... And times gave moved on and now a majority want to Remain"

Factually incorrect on so many accounts.

Little evidence if any of people now being majority wanting to remain.
Personally I'd be surprised if it wasnt marginally pro Remain given the 24/7 Project Fear that has been peddled since June 2016.

Disgusting betrayal of democracy.
We voted LEAVE

Piep piper going to play for so many traitorous fokkers soon.
And I will not shed a tear.

Isnt the hypocrisy staggering. Three years trying to stop the will of the people, then calling foul on the undemocratic suspension of parliament (which is democratic as its in the law)

It is the MPs and Parliament who have been acting undemocratic up until now and have been thwarting the will of the people.

Democracy:

Demo = The People
cracy = Rule

The people voted and told Parliament they wanted out of the EU.

It's perhaps a fair comment.

What I did like was the focus on debt reduction coupled with deleveraging plans.
The CFO also sounds suitably sober. Nothing worse than an excitable CFO.

Merging divisions and then demerging 2 years later just seems like executive 'busywork' to me. For all i know, it's just conceptual tittle-tattle that doesn't necessarily make a blind bit of practical difference, as long as good systems and procedures and a little flexibility are built in.
It makes me wonder whether the organisational culture is a bit too top-down.
.. Forgive me for repeating myself from old thread, I'm just fishing for some enlightenment.
