16/12/2020 22:24 | Thanks, good to see different perspectives. My tp is 547 but see no reason why it can't test your tp of 560 based on price trend in September. GL.BTW without wanting to ramp another share, if interested the 55ma has just crossed up the 255ma on Sthree (STEM). A good recovery play imo. | texaspete2
16/12/2020 21:36 | TxasPete2, I have made the changes in the header. Have left in the 14 and 28, although they could be removed. | bamboo2
16/12/2020 21:01 | Yes that would be very interesting to see. Here's the commentary around the moving averages I read, you are spot on re 255:Instead of 20, let's look at the 21MA 21 is a Fibonacci number. My experience is that prices tend to bounce off this average more frequently than they do the 20MA, so it makes for a better entry or exit point.Similarly, to look at intermediate trends, we will replace the 50 with the 55-day moving average. Again it's a Fibonacci number. Don't ask me why, but numbers from the Fibonacci sequence have this curious draw to them. Finally, for longer term trends, instead of the 200MA, following the same principle, you could use the 233MA. I actually prefer the 255MA, There are roughly 255 trading days in the year so it is, effectively, the one-year moving average. And again, far more frequently than the 200MA in my experience, it catches turning points. | texaspete2
16/12/2020 17:18 | INVH&S confirmed. Tp 560 Historical resistance 560 Texaspete, I can add a chart in the header with those smas if you like. Would be interesting to compare with the more common ones. 255 is chosen because it is often the number of trading days in the year. 21 is approx monthly. Not sure why 55 is used. | bamboo2
16/12/2020 10:00 | Thanks for feedback on charts, the trend of the last month looks very positive now. On moving averages I read an article on moneyweek promoting comparisons of the 21 day, 55 day and 255 day moving average. 21 day has now passed up through 255 so bodes well. | texaspete2
16/12/2020 09:25 | Zooming in, I can see the 50sma turns from down to uptrend today, making a golden cross possible as soon as 23/12/2020 | bamboo2
16/12/2020 08:34 | TexasPete2, thank you, I checked out the gap you mentioned. It is dated 16/4/2020 and measures 402.5-407.5 It is a Breakaway gap up, the kind of gap that occurs as a reaction to news, or an rns. This one is in response to a good update. These gaps make good support zones, and assuming the market continues to believe the fundamentals of the event that caused it, can remain unfilled for considerable periods of time. Look at the chart from the early days of fevr or kws for similar examples. | bamboo2
16/12/2020 03:12 | Halfpenny, I think you misunderstand why market leaders lead. They know the market trends and adapt. While you may trust a free offer included in an OS, in essence MS, business and serious users do not rely on a free addon when their business/systems are at stake. The free addon may be nice for kids at school but they can't afford the best anyway. | johnrxx99
15/12/2020 16:49 | Bought a few at around 500 this morning. Looking for a INVH&S reversal tp approx 560 | bamboo2
23/11/2020 09:34 | Expect some more takeover activity to come.... hxxps://www.thetimes | crozzdeboar
15/11/2020 23:26 | AVAST heading much lower to £3.75 or less £3. Reason as operating systems now including Security so why pay xtra!!!!! Now a dead market as it was always the case that Msoft, Apple 🍏 would improve their security. Sad sad day for Avast...!! I will keep well away too Risky. | halfpenny
11/11/2020 22:20 | That's normally a good sign! There is a gap at 400 to 410 so could drift lower but this seems to be a very well run company and excellent prospects for the future imo. | texaspete2
11/11/2020 14:25 | Growing cybersecurity concerns could equate to investment opportunities for long-term investors and the subscription-based business models of cybersecurity firms look appealing. Investor’s Champion provides thoughts on this growing sector and some of the key listed players. #avst #crwd #gbg #kape #mcfe #nlok | energeticbacker

06/10/2020 17:09 | Chat seems to have gone quiet. Any thoughts on when we might see some good news on this stock. Bought at 566p | deborahmynt

20/8/2020 08:18 | As you say, IanDippie. The punishment appears to be underway. What an extraordinary thing to do! | wilmdav
12/8/2020 09:27 | Solid yes, but I don't think shareholders will react well to 25million being donated? When the CEO decides to give 2.5c a share of shareholder's money to charity, that is going to be punished by holders. | iandippie
12/8/2020 08:45 | Solid results with guidance to the upper end of market expectations. Debt levels continue to tumble at a rate that would see Avast debt free by December 2021. Interim dividend up 9% to 4.8c too. New paying customers rising at the rate of 100k per month. It's a keeper. | inever
03/8/2020 11:58 | I'd like to see them stay independent and do some takeovers themselves. Failing that, rising dividends and share buybacks are inevitable. I hope we get a long run at this and they are not bought out because they have the market penetration to be a really big player in a few years. | inever
27/7/2020 08:47 | Inever: Totaly agree. With SAP rise this morning I think a take Over within 12 months, @ about £9-10 pounds. 2 million buy late friday. | beercapafn |
