14/8/2019 11:05 | Snippets of various comments about this new company after the results:- Revenue growth driven by products that protected users' privacy such as VPN and AntiTrack. Company gives away its basic antivirus software and then sells additional services where customers were increasingly aware of on line risks. ' AntiTrack makes it much harder for both advertisers and other entities who want to track you on the Internet to do that. Also seen strong demand for its high security browser with the number of active users rising to about 40 million. The company monetises the browser through search revenue and advertising. ' This month cyber security stocks have been boosted by chipmaker Broadcom's acquisition of antivirus software maker Symantec Corp's enterprise unit. | togglebrush
14/8/2019 09:12 | FTSE 250 cybersecurity company Avast said on Wednesday that full-year revenue growth will be at the upper end of its high single-digit percentage range following a solid first half. In the six months to the end of June, adjusted revenue rose 9.2% on a like-for-like basis to $421.7m, with adjusted billings up by $29.4m to $459.6m, driven by double-digit growth in the consumer direct desktop business. Meanwhile, adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation were up 6.5% to $236.5m. Chief executive Ondrej Vlcek said: "The strategic advantage of our global consumer platform model shows clearly in these results, with strong revenue growth driven by cross-sell promotions within the installed user base. I am delighted to see Avast reap the benefit of its investment in innovation and the customer experience." Vlcek said strong demand for the company's value-added solutions, such as VPN, utilities and AntiTrack, was accompanied by a resilient performance from its traditional anti-virus products. | broadwood

19/7/2019 06:53 | Thanks for that toggle. I think a single trade for 2 million shares is not your average trade. If someone is prepared to sell that amount and accept the mms lowered price that is what the price becomes and did in this instance. It happened at least 8 hours before it was reported. The encouraging part is how quickly it recovered. Especially when you get an innocuous broker update at a completely inappropriate time with no facts. Would make more sense to wait for the half year trading update which is imminent. | earwacks

18/7/2019 20:55 | 2 million sell @ £3.33 late reported is what dragged the share down. Good comeback this afternoon. Should be business as usual.
