Perhaps as early and Christmas. However, one caveat - when you have commit fraud once you often find it easier to do so again, so there is a possibility trading insolvent may be a goer, thus delay lights out. Nomad must be close to squeaky bum time.

After the news that UK 4G is 54th in the world and it is hoped that 5G will restore our status as a leader , there is so much potential out there.

We are only half way through the Hylas programme so I feel it is too early to give up hope.

Technology has a strange time-table, and having missed the boat on programming PC's , I thought I'd give myself a level playing field by learning Borland Delphi as soon as it was released. It was a big investment for me and then I was priced out of new releases , loads of them, as Borland is not cheap.

Eventually Delphi programmers were in demand but I'd lost interest by then. Hard to believe but I think Avanti got in too early too! Like Ruby and the Romantics , Our day will come !

Hylas 3 still on track - The EDRS-C second node will be launched in 2017 to help transfer the massive amounts of data being sent back and forth over Europe.

AVN said they needed fresh equity to access the export guarantee loans. They did that in a way by rolling over the interest on the loan.

They don't seem too keen to raise fresh equity from their AGM - they could in theory keep on rolling over debt until cash flow is sufficient to support debt and cut costs. The bond holders are also equity holders, and supportive if they see light at the end of the tunnel.

I have a feeling that trading is going to plan with annual growth near to 40%, but do we really know?

The takeover rules seem to mean they don't have to tell us about trading until end of Dec - when we may all have drunk too much to notice - which is frustrating.

I don't quite understand why they can't announce their last 2015/16 results until their current period review is over.

They could sell a 25% stake in their Hylas 4 satellite to plug a hole with little impact upon their growth plans (from Equity Research). What we don't know is how plans are going to get Hylas 3 and 4 off the ground.

AVN could be very cheap for a small punt, but still risky without news.

You pay your money and take your chances.

And being Christmas Elrico lets be charitable and forgiving to AVN.

Yesterday's RNS was welcoming but seeing the share price is in collapse mode, they could have said a little more to give long suffering share holders a little more hope, least try rescue the S/P !

Blimey a post on red SXX lead me to a poster's history, and from there to AVN boards which I no longer follow regularly. Loads on all, but nothing compared to here.

Have skipped through all the rubbish above so none the wiser why the price jumped to 23p+.

Can we ignore elrico so news might just be findable please?

EE is not wasting its time with its marketing of the 4G EE Home router product so they see a market that does exist.

What was more interesting about the contact was less the debate of who can get what or not, but that Avanti has a contract with EE to supply 72 cell sites with backhaul and there is a wider plan to use satellite backhaul at some other 1,000 sites across the UK. We suspect this is very likely to be part of the 4G 'emergency services plan', as consumers getting 4G with satellite backhaul are going to be less than pleased given 1GB of data will cost the same in these locations as a low latency mast with fibre or microwave backhaul (capacity is apparently usually 100 Mbps over the satellite link in these cases).

With 80,000 customers across 32 countries clearly satellite broadband has a place, but based on conversations with people trying to live and work with sub 1 Mbps type connections in the UK, the access to video streaming and the much faster downloads for software updates etc are welcome

Global satcom market seems ripe for consolidation

The satellite telecommunications market is traversing a difficult patch. Publicly traded companies no longer can sell their investors a high-growth story and now must offer dividend yields that some are having trouble maintaining.

Operators with heavy investment in Africa and Latin America in particular are struggling, and Asian fleet owners are warning investors that the road ahead will be rough, especially given Asia’s crowded, competitive market.

One- or two-satellite fleet owners owned by national governments are likely to be under pressure to get out of the business in the coming years as satellite bandwidth prices continue to fall. Given its weight in Asia, the Chinese government could well be viewed as a white knight coming to save otherwise doomed national satellites.

The situation is more dire in Latin America and Africa. Satellite fleet operator Avanti Communications of London, heavily exposed in Africa, has put itself up for sale. Industry officials said at least one Chinese group has expressed interest.

Avanti announces that a notice of its Annual General Meeting ("AGM") has been posted to shareholders and is available to download from the Company's website at www.avantiplc.com. The Company is not in a position to publish its audited accounts for the 12 months ended 30 June 2016, until the conclusion of the strategic review announced on 11 July 2016 under which a variety of activities are progressing. As such, it is expected that the resolutions relating to the laying of the annual report and accounts, appointing KPMG LLP as auditor of the Company and authorising the Directors to determine the remuneration of the auditor will be proposed at a subsequent general meeting to be convened in early 2017.
