I guess the BB quiet due to the rather quiet share price performance over the last couple of days. Caution still the word it would seem till the BOD put some numbers out.

It doesn't look like it at the moment John but the day is still young......I do think we could still close in on 260p ish :-)

The wind is with us now that I think I can say with complete confidence and as we get closer to launch it will build.

On the night of Thursday 5 to Friday, July 6, 2012, Arianespace has successfully launched two satellites: the EchoStar satellite dedicated to Internet XVII to the U.S. operator Hughes Network Systems and weather satellite MSG-3 for the European organization EUMETSAT.

63rd Ariane 5 launch and the 49th consecutive success

Looking good for our August launch!!

There was a positive mention of Avanti in last night's RHPS update which leads me to believe that there will not be a write-up of any significance in the July issue this evening. If this is the case, any likely resultant fillip to the price on Monday morning (as suggested here in post 191) has probably disappeared. In truth, I never thought this would amount to much (350+ as stated on the other thread post 9309), as RHPS readers are well versed in the AVN story and none of us are expecting anything other than a successful launch so it's importance is not overly significant.
Further, having watched the 'price action' these past few days, it is my opinion (also suggested in post 191) that the potential here for the price to roll over is now about to happen.

Consequently, I think that the run up to 400p is on the back burner again and probably for several weeks, unless, of course, there's news of new contracts or conversely negative news e.g. further delays.

I'm out for the morning and by the time I return to my computer it will be after midday so I'll know better by then if the roll-over has gathered any momentum.

This is all IMHO and I could be wrong but talk of £6 pre-launch and £8 post are frankly ridiculous. The launch of Hylas1 back in 2010 proved to be a false dawn and the shares were victim to a deliberate campaign of short selling. Assuming the launch is a success and the satellite is 'up and running' by Septemberish, then profits from Hylas1 and Hylas2 should begin to flow. Not until then will there be a significant price move - even as a chartist I am not overly excited by the fact that the 34 and 89 dMAs (fibonacci) have crossed and are moving upwards.

I've been in this game long enough now to know that brokers reports with sky high valutions aren't worth the paper they're written on.

INVESTEC 333p - DAN STEWART 2052p - JEFFRIES (co broker) 600p - CENKOS buy no p/t - avg=1106p - hugely inflated by Dan Stewarts finger in the air estimates.

Yorgi - I agree with your comments re: Hylas 2 opening us up to a much wider space and the potential is there for eveyone to see BUT thus doesn't shy from the fact the company doesn't earn any money still. Even when profits do start trickling thorugh this isn't going to treble overnight like some people think.... this is a share for the long term in my view.....very long term.

directors were happy buying a shed load over £6 a share a while back so i dont think those broker targets are so much pie in the sky...

VA207 will be a daytime launch, as I think will ours, VA208.

weather forecast is partially cloudy, but I'm sure the pictures of the lift-off itself will be great.

hint of a flag at 350. from base 300 implies further rise to 400p.

simples.

P.S. if its a 3-stager, then the 3rd stage should take us to 450p.

just a reminder that you can watch the VA207 launch on here this evening:

in fact you can also watch all the launches of the last few years. I've just watched VA198 (Hylas-1) again and hope we get as good a launch in a month's time when VA208 (Hylas-2) goes up.

As we have the trend with us at the moment I would think we could close in on 360p today.

We all also know the share price of any company never goes in a straight line forever and as is so often the case looking at the short term goes to high then falls back to low and so on but over time follows the trend of the companies fortunes........I hope that makes sense :-)

Your entitled to your view Bubbleandleak but I'm quite happy with the view that with the right news coming from the board regarding sales of Hylas 1 & 2 and revenues from Hylas 1 we could see a rapid move up and I'm sticking with that. If the revenues aren't there then we will retrace again I'm quite sure but I expect them to be.

Yes this is a share for the long term but it could show a very good profit from here fairly soon with the right news flow.

I would agree that Dolores could well be in the right ball park !

bubbleandleek,

I agree absolutely that sustained growth in the share price is all about AVN delivering its forecast revenues - and have posted such comments before - but the market will be prepared to pay for anticipated earnings once the evidence gets stronger that sales are being achieved. Questor says "The 2013 multiple is a very heady 163 times, but this falls to 9.3 in 2014 and just 4.4 in 2015" but you know and I know that if those earnings are achieved, there is no way you'll be able to buy it at 9xPER in 2014 or 4.4xPER in 2015. If they hit sales targets, I believe it will move forward sooner than you think.

'We are still suffering from the doubts being spread by the shorters last year and the false information being put about.'

I don't think we are. Looking back the shorters got it right. Not so much now as we are probaly fairly priced and the false information was clarified by Numis's grovelling apology.

If the brokers average price target is circa £16 then £8 ish post hylas 2 launch seems fair to me! Pre launch say £6 ish imo.
