05/7/2012 10:17 | Bubbleandleak, With Hylas 2 up and in service opening us up to a much wider customer base from Europe, Africa and the Middle East and with news flow of the revenues from Hylas 1 up to expectations this share price will seen to have been a bargain. We are still suffering from the doubts being spread by the shorters last year and the false information being put about. The costs and hard work have all come first and once the satellites are up and in service the revenues roll in. I'm confident that by the end of this year we will be looking back wishing we had bought more at this price. | yorgi
05/7/2012 09:53 | think of it as an oil E+P.. H2 is risked and H1 is de-risked. what HAS changed is the overarching -'ve sentiment.. I think it was too cheap sub 300p, by far.. suspect it is about right here but assuming a successful launch and decent contracts, it's like finding another French Guyane (see WSX LN) | verymaryhinge
05/7/2012 09:49 | Yorgi. We knew that Hylas 2 was set for launch Q2 2012 back last year and new funding was in place in 2010. The share px reaction and subsequant bear raid was ALL to do with the fact that Avanti makes no money! Nearly every post on here talks about things like....will the share px be 400p+ after launch......will we settle above 350p where key resistance has been etc etc. I think the shares here are fairly valued until such time we see revenue generation and profits! FYI. I own 25k of these and at an avg px of 520p. I too got sucked into all the hype. | bubbleandleek
04/7/2012 14:08 | I don't like normally to put long articles in the header but after Michael brought it to my attention this morning I updated the link but felt it was worth putting up in the header for a while as I thought it was interesting and reminded us of some good points. I thought it would also be of interest to any potential new investors. | yorgi
04/7/2012 13:12 | Dear Johncsimpson, I am doing some research on the whole winnithread empire and I was looking for past or present susbscribers views. So I went a looking - and your name turned up | matthew palmer
04/7/2012 12:51 | Saw the questions in earlier posts about new contract announcements and had a look at the website to see if I'd missed anything. They've added a bit of text to the website saying that now they're going to move to the full list, it will be reporting regularly to shareholders on progress, rather than every time they sign a contract. Makes sense to me, given the size of the company. They say they'll do an announcement in July, so I guess we'll get news soon. This is the text on the news page of the site: Avanti communicates its strategic developments, financial performance and the development of its business to all audiences, including investors, through a regular series of announcements via the London Stock Exchange. These announcements are the year-end preliminary results, the half year results, a year-end trading update (sometimes known as a pre close statement) in July and Interim Management Statements in May and November. This reporting pattern is consistent with the Group's objective to move to the Main List of the London Stock Exchange which requires these statements to be published (except the pre-close). Other than these announcements, only matters which are strategically or financially significant to the company will be announced separately via the stock exchange. | smythy3

04/7/2012 10:39 | It's quite good when we can be happy to be wrong that way Colva :-) | yorgi
04/7/2012 10:10 | Yorgi , my prediction early yesterday morning was that the share price wouldn't close above 340p and would drift lower over the next few days down to about 315p . Im quite happy to say that i got it very wrong ............... again . | colva
04/7/2012 09:01 | Geheimnis, I wish :-) but thank you all the same, so far I have been pretty much right this week but I have been wrong many other times. I don't see us retracing much from here now with launch of Hylas 2 well in sight unless the market cools big time or we have some unexpected bad news. However unless we move off rapidly soon I'm beginning to doubt that we will see 400p this week but there is time enough yet. I have seen AVN move rapidly before :-) EDIT I wouldn't like to call today's close Geheimnis I have no idea at the moment which way were going today. | yorgi
04/7/2012 08:53 | yorgi - you seem to be good at predictions - today's close? can we hit £3.70? £4.10 by the end of the week would be nice - and as i have posted before - represents a return to sanity rather than optimism! | geheimnis2
04/7/2012 08:42 | Screenshot taken about 15 mins ago. All my day indicators are steady neutral this first half hour and basically have been since yesterday afternoon (though they were jumping about a bit then). There is a potential here for a roll over . . . Please do not take this as any sort of sell implication. This is just my opinion . . . . I don't consider we will have a real breakout until we move past 380ish and then 400 which may or may not be a psychological barrier again. Once there I think we will get the real push forwards. When? I don't know. Perhaps the RHPS July issue might act as a spur on Monday morning. Again all IMO. | johncsimpson
