27/9/2011 15:24 | Can't believe this hasn't bounced back 20% today to be honest. | christianf12
27/9/2011 08:57 | Well lets hope that was the bottom and now we rise, but I didn't think we would drop below 500p, 400p and most definitely not 300p but the market hasn't helped. Monday we will have much more idea where we are heading over the next twelve months and a good indication to the longer term. Still quite happy with the technology and the business plan. | yorgi
27/9/2011 07:44 | It's about time this bounced back now. Sp targets of £25 offer a 10 x bagger from here. Rhps say buy up to 700p, that would as a get out point at this juncture, giving nearly 200% upside. Should be a nice blue day today. | christianf12
26/9/2011 21:42 | Look out for the Draconids Oct 8th... | petercrosby

26/9/2011 15:56 | When are the results due? | estienne
26/9/2011 10:31 | Max buy only 5000 shares. | someuwin
26/9/2011 10:29 | No squeaky clean me, I wish some shares would grow a bit though. AVN looking good to get back to 300 at least, let's hope it is the start of a reverse to an up trend. I thought that was happening a few weeks ago but the darn econmy is killing everything | superg1
26/9/2011 10:20 | Is that because you enjoy having things grow on you? | estienne
26/9/2011 09:38 | Nice one Yorgi you are growing on me, and I say that with a smile. | superg1
26/9/2011 08:16 | Surely this share nust be due a big bounce back upwards. I see 250 appears to be the bottom of the trend line although it could go slightly lower before bouncing up to 300. | superg1
25/9/2011 16:12 | Anyone heard any customer/user feedback since the new launch. Does it live up to the billing? Can't find much/any but did come across this. Sorry if already posted. https://ktn.innovate | waterloo01
25/9/2011 15:53 | lol or on the phone itself perhaps? | argy2
24/9/2011 22:18 | ...Nice idea. Unfortunately you'd need to install a satellite dish on your head lol. | someuwin
24/9/2011 22:08 | Dont know if I'm barking up the wrong tree here but: I travel around Hertfordshire using an i-phone on the O2 network to communicate with my clients and to receive calls from potential new clients. The signal, presumably from masts, is not always good and frequently results in dropped calls. Not good when you're half-way through a conversation with a potential new client. This causes me to sometimes consider moving to a more reliable provider. Presumably o2 are aware of this. Wouldn't they be better off providing my signal by satellite, thus avoiding the dead spots ? And if I'm right wouldn't this apply to all the other mobile operators too ? It's the same story with the signal to my portable laptop with the dongle from "3". Answers please. Shoot me down if I am wrong. Simple guy, simple investment strategy, based on personal experience. Buck. | buck581
24/9/2011 17:26 | This is pricing in a fundamental weakness in the business model. I suspect the market will give it a wide birth until it can demonstrate earnings growth. I salute the relentless director purchases, but even they can become victims of a root and branch re-evaluation of prospects. What price should Hylas 3 be abandoned? | pbracken
24/9/2011 09:59 | pojscot, Yes , i think most of us wish we'd sold just after launch - i sold some when we dropped down through what i thought was support at 440 so the recent weakness hasn't been as painfull as it would otherwise have been. I don't think there will be any surprises in the results (Oct 03) but hopefully we'll get updates on trading , financing of Hylas3 and the main market listing . | colva
24/9/2011 08:34 | colva--a good post BUT BUT BUT fact is the S/P just keep going down down down!!! I am holding on but have to say I wish I had sold just after launch and taken a reasonable profit. | pojscott
24/9/2011 08:14 | Might be a good time to remind ourselves of what Avanti have said in recent RNS's . 18 April Avanti is pleased to confirm that at service launch, having confirmed contracts and orders, the peak utilisation rate under HYLAS 1 aggregate contracts is 35.1% which comfortably exceeding the 25% target set pre-launch. Henceforth, Avanti will regularly report the industry standard backlog metric. The backlog statistics are now £139.0m for HYLAS 1, £28.4m for HYLAS 2. Avanti also notes a £113.4m option for HYLAS 2 capacity which is subject to a significant option fee Approximately 52% of backlog revenues relates to Enterprise and Military applications and customers (not including the HYLAS 2 option), with the balance relating to SME and Consumer broadband. Avanti expects backhaul business to soon become a significant percentage of backlog. Avanti is also pleased to report that the increased credibility generated from successful service launch has resulted in an increase to the pipeline. The pipeline now stands at £427.2m. -------------------- 29 July Avanti Communications Group plc (AIM: AVN), the satellite operator, announces that it will publish its preliminary annual results for the year to 30th June 2011, on Monday, 3rd October. The company expects that the results will be in line with market expectations. -------------------- 03 August It seems clear to us that with over 70 customers now installing HYLAS 1 services in 14 countries in Europe, we have the distribution in place to fully sell out all of our HYLAS 1 capacity within our three year target. In the meantime, we continue to see very strong interest in the capacity to be provided by HYLAS 2, particularly in the developing countries that it will cover. This interest is from existing HYLAS 1 and new customers. HYLAS 2 remains on track for launch in Q2, 2012. -------------------- At times like these its very easy for shareholders to get distracted by "noise" but company RNS's tell us that everything is going to plan. | colva
23/9/2011 23:22 | Surely they are not "competing with recognised ISPs", they are selling to them! AVN do not sell directly into the retail market; they sell capacity to ISP's who sell on to retail customers, most of whom don't care whether their signal comes from wires, church steeples or satellites as long as they get a connection. All AVN have to do is sell their capacity to BT and the like and that is what I shall be looking for at the next announcement. People keep posting here saying 'this won't work' or 'that will become redundant', but if AVN sell the capacity on their satellites they get paid, revenues flow, and we have a business. | jeffian
23/9/2011 22:55 | jeffian - 22 Sep'11 - 10:02 - 6737 of 6750 The same arguments are still there and the concerns still remain. I see your point regarding having the technology in place, there may well be seperate funding for some areas with satellite alone, but unfortunatly for Avanti in this case its not a question of risk investment, I assume they are competing with three recognised ISPs and the pilot schemes are about market demand and how best to serve it with the funds available. Edit - reply to below jeffian - 23 Sep'11 - 23:22 - 6752 of 6752 I assume they are all "recognised ISPs"!? Customers may not care about where their service comes from, but they do care about quality and cost which is a couple of the reasons for having these pilots. www.thinkbroadband.c I dont think anyone here has said satellite will become redundant, I know I haven't, that is the defensive reply of the bulls when they hear something they don't like. I am more than aware of the uses of satellites. | gorvachof
23/9/2011 16:03 | Could that be a triple bottom? | cancun tango
23/9/2011 14:07 | Gary Mott - stop asking Superg the question about the BOD being corrupt. It just perpetuates his lie and he's never going to answer. | blackberrydrop
23/9/2011 11:38 | according to my L2 you can buy for 260p and sell for 265p? | pugg1ey
23/9/2011 11:31 | One thing that is fact....amongst all the rubbish and lies is the share price performance has been horrendous ! | yorgi |
