03/6/2011 11:00 | Good to see the recovery today after the drop yesterday. Thought we were going to follow the normal pattern! gg | ![]() greengiant
03/6/2011 10:38 | With a fall like we have had it must have crossed plenty of peoples minds and it did mine. However in the cold light of day on looking at the facts and ignoring the fiction the business plan looks good to me and I'm confident of DW and his team succeeding in building AVN into a profitable company and rewarding its shareholders. | ![]() yorgi
03/6/2011 10:28 | Lets hope so yorgi. I must admit I have been tempted to sell once or twice but have decided to stay for the long run. | ![]() pojscott

01/6/2011 23:29 | Interesting link MnS "Petrie said the company was in talks with Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) about Tooway's potential in helping the government fill in the UK's rural broadband not-spots, but he stressed that "the market and product stand up on their own without additional funding"." True, their product is ready for service even without funding. The question still remains, how fast will consumers take up the service at these prices? | gorvachof

01/6/2011 17:52 | It's not really a contradiction, as yorgi says, 2350220. Trading is my job. I need cash flow like every other schmuck earning a living. If I didn't cash in profitable trades I'd have no income! | pbracken
01/6/2011 12:10 | Well I guess as Pbracken says he is a trader and believe he can find another stock that is going to move quicker and make him more in the short term than AVN ???? | ![]() yorgi
01/6/2011 11:57 | What a bizarre post. 'I've closed my long . . . but this is a buy'!! John | ![]() 2350220
01/6/2011 10:51 | Closed my LONG, because that what traders like me do; but no question this is a BUY (to hold) on weakness for investors. Stand-out quality company. | pbracken
01/6/2011 09:35 | The slow recovery continuing and those that bought in last week sup 400p already can have a little smile and over the coming year I'm confident they will have a very big smile if they stick with it. | ![]() yorgi

31/5/2011 19:20 | This is great, but what we have to do is hold onto the gains. The company has released a string of good news over the past 4 months ad yet when it is released the share price gains, only to fall lower the next day / week. gg | ![]() greengiant
31/5/2011 17:15 | judging by the late jump in price can we assume the 500,000 was a buy? and the 65,000 showing as a sell, possibly a buy to? | ![]() jonnib

31/5/2011 11:53 | Don't I feel like a right plonker for closing my Spread Bets too early!!! I just figured that when it broke the 400p mark, that was time to get out. Might have known that it was going to take off the minute I closed out:-( Anyway, at least I'm glad I've still got my core holding in my SIPP. John | ![]() 2350220

31/5/2011 10:42 | Apologies if already posted, but couldn't see it: Krypton provides superfast broadband to Cumbria Tuesday, 31 May 2011 Rural communities in Cumbria are going to be able to hook up to high speed broadband following a deal between local firm, Krypton TV Limited and Avanti Communications in London. It means that homes and businesses currently without broadband or even internet access will be able to get online with Avanti's satellite technology. In some parts of the Lake District, people are still using telephone lines to access the internet and living some distance from telephone exchanges it makes the whole experience even slower. "Our new service will revolutionise broadband in the rural corners of the Lake District and Cumbria. To use an analogy, some areas of Cumbria have been struggling with an internet service that drags along like a tortoise what we can now officially do is hook them up to the hare," said Martin Butcher, managing director of Krypton TV. "It uses brand new satellite which is twice as fast, more reliable and more cost-effective than the previous satellite services. People in Cumbria now don't have to wait for telephone companies, or the Government to lay new cable and they don't have to wait for grants to get broadband they can get connected now." While some business have reported speeds of 33kpbs (kilobits per second), the new service is advertising speeds of 8Mb per second. | ![]() strollingmolby |
