Jeez some of you are a touchy lot aren't you.I have no reason to lie as I don't know nobody here. I merely posted to thank Simon as he was posting at this time, that's all, no mallice.

SK. Thanks for clearing up any doubt re a once long thought idea that you was teamed up with TW. I must admit we have got the picture you remain short- even my informant has spotted that (says he tongue in cheek). The long suspicious silence from AVN other than directors buying does seem suspicious after a drop from £7 and keeps the share price weighted towards the shorts but it wouldn't take much to turn that. Come on AVN - surprise us. Any luck on the National SK. My son had a 3rd place but his other nag died. Yep back to work today.

The problem is you are listening to an obese, alcoholic, compulsive gambler.A man that spreads deliberate lies. The tactics always the same, mentioning an undisclosed source.Very convenient.Note how when the falsehoods are exposed,he merely changes tack.
A man whose past is littered with scandal. An individual clearly of unsound mind and no self esteem.A man who will eventually destruct himself.
Just be patient.Money you can make back. You only get one life.Don't allow a pig try and wreck yours too.Just look in the mirror and be grateful you are not him.

Simon,

Your informant is obviously not that intelligent if one moment he posts that skyDSL are offering everything very cheap, then the next moment after explaining to him that it is only for 6 months say's it was for comparison purposes. This is after his working out the half price model contributes about half of managements expectations....

eeerrr, it would it is only that price for 6 months.

But that aside, still no explanation of what

"The contract, which commands pricing which exceeds market expectations"

means?

Are the directors lying? Please inform me.

EdmonJ - I agree

What is wrong with free speech?

Let bull and bear alike, express their reasoning and opinion.

Such is a market; and opinions differ.

Ultimately the fundamentals will prevail.

Guys
Re the constant - my informant replies messages today. SK is a very very clever guy - after all are any of us as well off as he is? Suddenly we seem to be levelling off share price wise and all these posts appear today. We are all aware of SK's feelings on AVN and that he will gain , and some , if the share price keeps dropping. Looks like he can see further gains and will push to get them. What gets me is if he is friends with TW then why did he not push his case with him for the fund to sell out at a massive gain and get back in when the smoke cleared.Agree with the thoughts AVN should be letting shareholders know what is going on here - mind you the directors sold out at average £7 when all around were saying buy now they are buying when most around are saying sell. There could be logic here. Be lucky guys.

agree with kirkuk

important to knock his arguments down

posters have destroyed any credibility he may have on this one

that is a useful service

hopefully there will be news from AVN so we can turn the discussion to more important/interesting issues

Can't agree. We must continue to counteract the insidious spin of this man and his illiterate informant bedfellow.

Evil men prosper if good men do nothing.

One other point, skyDSL are a reseller. What SC's informant is assuming, is that the wholesale price is going to be 50%. This is a dangerous assumption and one which is also being applied to the discount period, which is being subsidised purely by the reseller. Eutelsat have sold the reseller the capacity for £x, the reseller is introducing this into the market at cost (£x) - the reason? One you have the broadband installed, the switching costs in terms of ££'s and hassle is prohibitive, so you tend to stay with who you originally went with. This is an introductory offer and as stated before, it rises, as with Avanti, EUTELSAT sell capacity. It is then up to the reseller to sell that capacity at a price he believes he can get in the market.

It should also be noted that skyDSL paid €3m for a 5 year contract. This compares to €7.1m over the seven year term for Avanti's latest contract announcement. So what does this imply? Avanti's prices are higher, or, they are selling more capacity. Either way you look at it, they are either selling at higher prices or they are selling to a larger company. Either way you look at it, in the statement it was stated:

"The contract, which commands pricing which exceeds market expectations"

tells you something...... read the words again SC and tell me in simple terms (I am a simple man) what it means

Agreed Jeffian and against all that, who are the protagonists?.....one portly organ grinder and his monkey !!!

In addition to Jeffian's comments, I cannot believe that the directors can be so stupid as to stump up this much personal dosh if the business model is fundamentally flawed. Either they are pretty daft or we PI's are going to be victims of an elaborate scam. My gut feeling at this present time says neither.

I must admit that I haven't troubled my little brain with the minutiae of pricing, speeds and capacity - 'broad brush' man, me - but all this discussion on these subjects leaves me with a huge unresolved question. Hylas 1 was completely financed prior to launch and financing is available for Hylas 2. Last July, £70m additional equity was raised via a Placing at 430p. My problem is this; banks and government funding agencies don't go around handing out cash without carrying out serious due diligence which, presumably, would have covered the market, competition, pricing etc. and AVN's projections would also, presumably, have been stress-tested across a range of 'what if?' scenarios. The July Placing would have gone through the same process and would also have been the subject of a Prospectus vetted and signed off by nomads and lawyers. The bears' argument seems to be that due to competition they won't sell full capacity on Hylas 1, what they do sell will be at up to one third of the price projected and that some previously announced contracts have not been completed. So why aren't the writs flying?
