Tomorrow a critical, highish risk event either works or doesn't work and you think the upside is already factored in?
Strange if true!

Somehow I don't think so - but I'd be very happy if it did.

I reckon a successful launch and deployment will immediately add 150p to the shareprice...or lose it if unsuccessful.

I very much doubt that a successful launch is priced in. This is a major de-risking factor.

I suspect a successful launch is priced in. What should really move things is a succession of new contracts once its in orbit.

Someone strike a match and get this squib into orbit.

Launch window is between 6.39pm GMT and 9.54pm.
I think you can watch it on AVNs web site

What time is the launch? Is it possible to watch the launch live on a cctv or something similar?

I bought some more at £6 this morning and am v. happy with prospects...

Does anyone know how long it will be after the successful launch that the Co. tells us that deployment and comms are successful?
Hours, days, weeks?

Hi folks from wintry Euston- seems a few of us are in both XEL and here -I seem to be in good company and I too am happy with the risk -worst case scenario I believe would be that one of the two is less successful than we hope with result of lower overall return but still a return - but I believe both will come through. Not long now anyway.

AVN and XEL are a good looking pair ...
Could be a fortnight for XEL, though, yorgi.

This is exactly like an oil share that is awaiting well test results after its initial drill - actually very much like XEL at the moment. After a long and spectacular rise ove the last year or so they both reach a stage where its the results that count.

A good result for either company should see it's share price double fairly quickly. A bad result will see the share price collapse.

Some of those that have ridden the big gains are banking profits to reduce risk. Others are buying in now to gain from the risk.

With both companies chance of success well into the 90% region, I'm happy to be invested in both.

I would have thought it was good news that investors are selling. If the launch is successful then the more buyers there will be on Monday.

Hylas 2 launches in 2011 or 2012? Everything including the quote from Williams suggests 2012, but the article says 2011 - hardly shows attention to detail ...

When will they be able to confirm that the satellite has deployed correctly?

Yes the satellite might not deploy, the rocket my explode on take off,,,,,,,etc but more the likely the rocket will go into orbit as it has done many times before and the satellite will be released and work as expected

That's why they may be bailing out, but it doesn't answer the question of why they didn't do it when the share price was nudging 700p ...

I suspect that there were quite a few who expected the share price to rise right up until the launch and have pitched their T trades accordingly.

Of course, the mm's can read them like a book ...
