michaelmouse and his new project, anyone long here should SELL NOW because if he has bought in you can bet its going south.

And he is still paranoid, someone else is accused of being elrico and he is still arguing with people who dont agree with him instead of engaging in a reasonable adult debate.

Post 654 Smithie6 - "Im mostly all in bricks"

How we wish you were!!!!

I've got this horrible feeling that I've been conversing with the multi-handled pillock that is elrico.

It's getting difficult to find posters on ADVFN that aren't elrico.

It appears I was wrong so I owe an apology to LSE. The link is to "directorstalk.com" and follow up by searching AVN

The SAT news is a real boost for AVN as their management team seem to get extremely positive reviews in the press I have seen and are intent on achieving very fast growth.

There's a very odd posting this morning on London South East about Avanti and Innovate UK. I've taken the poster's advice and this is the link:

[...]

As I can publish it here but he/she can't apparently there on LSE are they actively censoring their news now? Odd that two stories in a week that appear to be good news for Avanti have either disappeared from LSE or been impossible to post properly.

SAT, who utilise in part AVN HYLAS 1 and 2, has raised £2m to fund acquisitions in EU. SAT's growth should feed into AVN's growth in time.

I'm wondering what new revelations are going to unfold come 30th April?

If the Schauenburg deal was true but agreed to be hush hush then all Avanti could do is to pull the announcement, however if the deal had fallen apart they would need to announce that to the markets as it would had been false price sensitive.

So I'd say the deal is in place, as I remember companies only have to make a RNS if the deal was >10% of the revenue unless they wish.

Anyway there must (I hope) deals are going though all the time unannounced to the markets so Schauenburg's article was just a mistake by a fat finger PR person.

Anyone have a view on whether there was a deal with Schauenburg or not? Don't know why a company of their size would post a press release if it was made up. And don't know why avanti wouldn't want to public that they've sold something to reduce concerns on debt.

I think we are all agreed that it's a race between cash burn and cash receipts. AVN are clearly trying to beef up their sales (appointment of the new director)and marketing (see the improved website if you haven't done so already).

But they can also reduce cash outflows. On LSE BB there is a reference to a deleted posting about Nigeria, which is odd. I have spent some time searching since I saw it and found a reference on Google to a press release which has apparently been subsequently deleted:
Singleview - Schauenburg - Schauenburg Gruppe
schauenburg.com/en/news/news-press-release/singleview?item=149
Press release, 12 April 2016 ... The contract will entail Stratosat West Africa buying the two Ka-Band Gateways from Avanti and renting the antennas back to ...

Schauenburg are a large but privately owned German group which has interests in many sectors and operates in South Africa where they are a significant player in satellite technology. They have a West Africa subsidiary.

It appears that Schauenburg published a press release but by inference they didn't tell AVN they were doing so. When AVN became aware of this it was pulled but not before it was on the internet where nothing really disappears.

If I am right LSE for whatever reason have suppressed the posting, Schauenburg have pulled the original press release and nothing is left but the www ghost of the posting.

So what we can see is that there is a contract (presumably signed since nobody but an idiot posts anything before it is legally binding) which involves the purchase by a Schauenburg Group subsidiary of two Gateways in West Africa and a lease back.

So far as I am aware these Gateways have not been constructed so from AVNs viewpoint they will be getting access to GES but not having to fork out cash upfront. The shadow doesn't say how long the deal is for on what terms but the original underlying release may have done so.

BUT THE POINT is that AVN are getting access to West Africa (Nigeria in particular) at minimum short term cashflow impact which suggests they are much farther advanced in their West African plan than they would have been with the now delayed Hylas 3.

weatherman, if your $40m of booked h2 sales relates to the $40m of contract wins from q2, I can see no company forecast made of how much of the $40m will fall into the second half figures, they just describe it as expecting a strong revenue contribution from these contracts.

AVN reported $31m at the half year, and another $40m of revenue already booked for the second half, which leaves then to find another $20m of growth to meet their target. The BDUK type scheme is also being put in place in many EU nations, and AVN has a foot in the market through partners such as SAT.

I have been wondering how many Africans have electricity , far less broadband , and was surprised to see that , in 2012 , only 23% of Kenyans have it (electricity). Nigeria was 55% , Ghana 64% , and South Africa 85%.

Makes me wonder how many people out there know there is such a thing as broadband?
Beginning to wish I'd invested in lower technology .... but it now appears a little more obvious why growth is so slow?

Does anyone on here have experience of living in Africa and an opinion on likely demand? Have many people even got transister radios ? Just getting the broadband message out to the population may be tricky?

Kenya was a bit of a shock .....

The MM's seem to be confused as to the direction of AVN and the chart has flattened off.

The UK contract is of no good to the company in regards of paying off the bonds.

We need to take over Africa, still no sign of anything other than small deals.

Time is running out for the BoD but still not lost.

Where's the new Africa salesman?

The next Quarter statement will be critical to the company.

Weatherman - There's some merit in to what you say in post 2255, as we have all seen, AVAN don't mind a little creative accounting, and who is to say they don't pull a dodgy looking rabbit out of the hat? Holding an short could be costly, if only to ones healthy position. I certainly wouldn't open a short now, even if I could. For example, I have been short since 190p, my trailing limit came within .25p of triggering at 115p, I am now 5p away from my short being closed at 105.25p. But do I want to close it? I have some thinking to do over the weekend, because if I close my short I lock in 75 points profit and risk not riding it down at least another 75 point, because the 2 firms I use will no longer accept short positions, they are close only, so I won't get back in unless I go on the hunt a firm that will. However, as Jaknife eluded, the bonds tell a story of expected failure and bonds are typically a very good gauge for what is expected in the future, I have seen it with GKP, PCI, AFR, the 2 have gone belly up and GKP, is just a matter of time.

The quarterly update isn't far away - time to close the shorts ? bearing in mind how quickly Avanti can rise on positive news - from history.
