12/8/2014 08:43 | "It will almost double the total fleet capacity". Am I missing something? Capacity was 18 GHz before so I'd expect the new total fleet capacity to be around 36 GHz. The new total fleet capacity after Hylas 4 will be 18 GHz + the new 28 GHz = 46 GHz. I believe 46 GHz is way above 36 GHz, i.e. the new total fleet capacity will be "well over double the current total fleet capacity". | ![]() revoman

11/8/2014 09:52 | Yup, a rise in interest rates will have no bearning on the compnay's fixed debt. An increase in interest rates will only cause the price of the bond to decrease, which is the risk of the holders. | akajimmy9

11/8/2014 08:56 | yes, but with $195m in cash at the moment, they'll still need to raise approx $100m to complete Hylas 4, and that assumes they will be cash flow positive over the next year or two. Main concern (and an ongoing one looking forward) is the gearing and how they've accumulated a large amount of debt as we move to a period where interest rates will probably start rising. Ive been in and out twice in AVN, but at the moment Im staying out and keeping an eye open to see if they can ever actually deliver what they promise - not their strong point to date! | anusol
11/8/2014 08:29 | $70million saving on Hylas4 will certainly help the projections and mean a lot less finance to be raised! | ![]() mjcferguson

07/8/2014 11:15 | Absolutely jadeticl3. Only sadly, on this ONE occasion, he does seem to have called it right, unfortunately. Wish I hadn't followed TW's every word and got into this stock. But no point looking back and wishing 'if only' I suppose. John | ![]() 2350220
07/8/2014 08:58 | Tom Belford was not the only Tom (I cannot bring myself to mention the name of the second Tom)who boosted AVN and criticised EK for his doom casting, only to do U turns later. | ![]() jadeticl3
06/8/2014 19:57 | Estienne , they were fairly minor sales if I remember right. Having ploughed most of their fortunes into the start-up business, the sellers needed some living expenses (and perhaps paid off second mortgages etc). But in those days their press releases were quite cringe-worthy. I agree with your sentiment. But having been boosted by Tom Bulford in those days, he did a few u-turns in quick succession ..... cannot think why ... cough! | nugacity
06/8/2014 19:15 | Good for them Chartwise 140 to 145p looks about it , a few pence lower than the 150p last low | ![]() buywell2
06/8/2014 18:37 | Nugacity, The reason why the price halved to £3.5 was the fact that the directors sold their shares and undermined confidence. Avanti have a good product and I think it will eventually speak for itself but it hasn't been helped by the management team. | ![]() estienne |
