06/8/2014 11:55 | Facts never have helped this stock. In the early days Mr Williams seemed to have the unhappy knack of making 20% average news sound more important than 80% good news. The board then starting announcing really good news about the companies who were taking bandwidth from us and mysteriously this had an adverse reaction too! It has always been the same, £7 per share going into a perfect launch for Hylas 1 and instead of jumping to £9 on the way to £23 as predicted by several professionals, the price halved to £3.50 It beggars belief but the same stupid pattern has continued over the ensuing period. I still have faith that the countries which will benefit from Avanti 2014 will not be miraculously jumping into the space age any time soon and will still be using our services once the rest of the world has moved on to the next technology. And that service is probably better than mine in England because I am at the end of a wire just a few miles from the nearest telephone exchange. I bought my shares for the dividends they'll be paying one day in the distant future or hopefully sooner. | nugacity

06/8/2014 07:40 | We could do with KPIs and bandwidth availability stats to start to turn the tide. I'd say the opportunistic fund raising for a further satellite was against institutional wishes - pushed back profitability and added yet more risk. Management need to give the market comfort in revenue per quarter being enough to meet the high debt servicing costs and one way to do this would be for more transparent and helpful contract win announcements. The share price is under pressure from shorters and only facts will dispel their pathetic actions. | ![]() greedy rooster

27/7/2014 17:24 | For those who don't get the Sunday Times, this was on the last page of the business section. Is it normal for a broker to reissue a note like that? Anyone who works in the city know? Anyone seen the note even? "The pressure must be rocket-ing at the satellite broadband supplier Avanti, chaired by drinks veteran Paul Walsh. The shares have tumbled since it recently warned that it would be hit by a $7m loan arrangement fee. Last Monday its house broker, Jefferies, advised investors to "give careful scrutiny" to Avanti's statement. This was lost from a version published the following day. Wonder what prompted the change of heart." | duckduckgo

26/7/2014 07:07 | Thanks Buywell. Almost missed the blue line running along the bottom. Does your charting give you any idea of how low it might go? What is Paul Walsh doing? The share price is now down 40% in the 4 months since the day he took over as chairman. He needs to get in control of what's being presented. Surprised he signed off on the June press release saying trading was in line with expectations and then we find out a month later that we're going to miss PBT - due to things they should pretty well have known about in late June. | duckduckgo
