A few weeks schedule slippage is nothing, especially if they have an Arianne they can use. Its almost a comfirmation that everything else is ok.

Yes you are right Sg but any offer would have to be a sunstantial premium to reflect that

I'd prefer an approach to wait until both Hylas are in orbit.

Any take over would give a short term gain but it would mean that we lose the opportunity for a much greater return in the longer term.AVN has a fantastic opportunity to create substantial returns for longer term investors.

I can't say I had thought about takeover but I'm quite sure you are right Someuwin. I don't think David Williams would let go easily

...Indeed Julcester - I'm sure the likes of SKY, Virgin Media, BT etc would pay a handsome premium for such an asset.

Very interesting that Inmarsat could be the target of a takeover. It would leave AVN as a very attractive target for others.

Just noticed yesterday's volume was the highest ever. And today's volume was extremely high too. Something happening I wonder?

Two big buys gone through - 125,000 shares and 250,000 shares - is recognition imminent?

Will we see £6 or £7 per share soon??

The first Soyuz undergoes an initial assembly checkout at Kourou

Sat May 8, 2010 8:04 am via: Arianespace

(Arianespace) – History is being made in French Guiana as the first Soyuz undergoes its initial assembly checkout in preparation for Arianespace's maiden commercial flight from the Spaceport in French Guiana later this year. The activity is part of a regular maintenance check that is standard for Soyuz launchers in storage awaiting liftoff, and the build-up process also is being used to qualify assembly procedures in the Spaceport's new Launcher Integration Building for the Russian-built medium-lift workhorse.

This is one of two Soyuz 2-1a vehicles that were delivered to French Guiana last November, and it is scheduled for launch before the end of 2010 with the HYLAS telecommunications satellite for Avanti Communications...

Tend to agree with you there someuwin. The future certainly looks bright here.

I can't think of many scenarios that would cause a significant drop with AVN. seems to me there is not much 'hot' money invested here (no T-Trades looking for a quick turn).

People are buying in here for the big returns further down the line, and seeing as most observers seem to think this will probably double by september it would be foolish to sell out on a market wobble.

I'm sure there's lots of us who are adding on any weakness.

As always its a battle between fear (of losing money) and greed (gaining money). In this particular case the odds of winning seem too compelling to be frightened out - imo.

I doubt it, but who knows. If the DOW can drop 1000 pts in 7 minutes, anything can happen!
