I would think that sums it up....They seem to be selling space on the satellite quite well and so as long as that continues then the only bear point I would see is getting the satellite into space and working up to spec ! When that happens I'm sure they will be able to sell the service quicker.

As for target price.......well if you are right £16 then we will all be happy !!!

Hi Guys,

Have bought in today. AVN was brought to my notice by a couple of Fundies in Investment Week saying it was their Small Cap pick for 2010.

The Daniel Stewart note, 7/1/10, has some pretty juicy PBT forecasts:

2013 - 37m
2014 - 73m
2015 - 101m
2016 - 128m

The bullish points for the stock are crystal clear, apart from these bearish points below are there any further:

~Satellites have to reach space in working order, on budget and on time.
~All capacity has to be sold at a healthy margin.

If all goes to plan I was thinking a target price of £16.00 by 2015.

Yes I think you are spot on there Tritan. When we have some more contract wins anounced I'm sure that will push us further back up again and taking what as anounced in the RNS of the 10th we shouldn't have long to wait

Am going to sell some tomorrow to avoid CGT - and then am buying them back. With the possibility of good news around the corner and the end of the FY likely to alter trading patterns in this stock I don't want to lose out. The launch may well be delayed, and the price may fall further but don't want to risk getting the timing wrong in case it moves upwards quickly.

smarm - isn't it simply the case that its a major risk to be holding AVN when its blast off for the satellite?

There is a risk that the launch fails or that it doesn't work once it gets up there. Yes they have it insured but the share price would fall a long way on failure.

Recent price movements suggest some truth to Mammon's post (thanks for it) and I haven't heard anything from the company about why there was the initial delay. My money is out and looking for somewhere it can make money. Any suggestions?

I'm puzzled re the fall. It may have to do with the fact people think that Brown's promise of fast broadband for all (fast in this case = 2mb), somehow negates the need for a satellite. Nonsense of course. Today's RNS rather proves that AVN are close to what's going on.

more buys than sells on both of the last 2 days. seems to me the MMs walking down the price. maybe a large sell order to fill in the background?
