24/10/2012 10:34 | Well said Gary, it looks as though a better worded RNS could have had SC reaching for the buy button. Today's retrace is a bit worrying though the short position remains at the 5M or 5% mark. I want to buy more but my re-entry point which looked settled over the last week is now up in the air again. | nugacity
24/10/2012 10:21 | I doubt buywell is short. He is just a troll. Takes pleasure in winding people up. Don't expect anything sensible from him. Filter is the best option. | ![]() sg31
24/10/2012 09:20 | buywell2, I like many here are LTH and so the short term price movements are not too important. However, I do take exception to the false and misinformation spread here by the likes of SC deliberately to try to damage the company. The fact is, SC was 50% out on his end of June 2012 revenue forecast when he made it last year (even with the shock conversative accounting of some contract revenue). You are obviously also trying to talk the share price down to support your short term short. If SC thought this was such a weak company, why did he wait until after the results to open his short (at 295p) when he could have shorted the day before at about 350p? As you know this share price can move rapidly by up to 30% in both directions. There is an Interim Managemenent Statement due in November. Now that the BOD have 'cleared the decks', I await this forward looking statement eagerly. Let's see how this affects the share price In the meantime, good luck with your short. | garymott

23/10/2012 08:49 | a read for anyone,,,, Open CloseNewtec's Ka-band hub and terminals on HYLAS 2 17/10/12 Installation and on-site tests successfully completed First ISPs Testing InSat's Afghanistan-based VSAT and Broadband IP Access Service on Avanti's HYLAS 2. 15 October 2012. Avanti Communications, InSat and Newtec today confirmed that they successfully completed their joint tests of Newtec's Ka-band hub infrastructure in Cyprus. Additionally, Managed Service Provider (MSP) InSat announced that the first Afghan ISPs have started testing their service. InSat is providing services for Afghan telecom providers based on Newtec's Broadband platform (Sat3Play®) which provides IP access services for consumers and business under InSat's brand name Hi-Stream®. Matthew O'Connor, Chief Operating Officer for Avanti, said: "Avanti would like to welcome InSat as one of our newest HYLAS 2 partners and congratulate Newtec on completing a speedy installation of its first Ka-band hub, in just three days." InSat CEO Valentine Gurinovich said "On site in Afghanistan we have installed control stations and some customer terminals at Afghan Internet service providers to run tests of our broadband satellite Internet access Hi-Stream designed especially for regions like Afghanistan and other emerging countries. I announced the launch at CABSAT in March 2012. The results are very impressive and confirm our choice in favour of Avanti's Ka-Band satellite HYLAS 2 and Newtec's Sat3Play technology. I kindly invite further Afghan ISPs to become a partner and to participate in the tests to convince themselves of the performance and the competitiveness of our new service." Newtec will be the exclusive technology partner for all InSat services, providing two-way satellite broadband technology. Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec, said: "Newtec's broadband technology has a proven track record of being highly reliable and efficient with well over 100.000 terminals deployed today. We are providing a solution that matches today's and future needs of InSat's ISPs by providing download speeds up to 22 Mbps on our MDM2200 broadband terminals". Interested ISPs can get more information and learn how to join tests and become a client via InSat's microsite | ![]() wilksey1

22/10/2012 03:50 | Avanti are going for a premium listing on the main market , their business and especially the accounts are going to come under very close scrutiny , they are well aware of the level of disclosure and transparancy required for premium listed companies so i think we can be fairly sure that there are no skeletons in the closet , the recent change in accounting practice was in preparation for the move but it was poorly handled and i wouldn't be surprised if we were to have a new more experienced FD on board in the coming months. | colva
21/10/2012 20:10 | Sure, very much take your point Extrader. Just thought it was interesting insofar as it is hardly a precedent, what Avanti are accused of doing, in this instance. All the best, John | ![]() 2350220 |
