I went back into Avanti very heavily (for me) around 5 weeks ago for the pre-launch runup. Accepted the risk it may not happen, or I'd be too early. Hopefully, this will be a decision that pays off well for me.

Still a long way out of the money on my SIPP holding, but this is the first time for a long time that my Spread Bets are actually showing a profit :-)

fwiw imo I can envisage a possible buy out situation here...........the shareprice has been literally stood on for 6 months, which made no sense unless someone wanted it there, lets see.

Next target to break is £3. Would imagine there will be further upside as lots of people have this one on their watchlist. If we break £3 hopefully will start to head north aiming for £4.50.

One would like to think this is the start of a steady rise as we run up to the launch of Hylas2, as happened with H1. Whether it could hold on to any gains post-launch depends very much on them showing that the cash is beginning to flow in as predicted IMHO. Fingers X-ed.

Isn't this what happened pre launch, in the run-up to Hylas 1 send off?
It seemed that everyone and his aunt climbed on board . . . not the rocket, but the shares!
And I for one, was firmly in the deluded camp that I'd be looking at £13 by the Christmas after launch . . . Easy to look back and regret my decision to Buy & Hold.
What's that old phrase I hear ringing in my ears: "Buy on Rumour, Sell on Fact"
Don't we all wish we'd sold at £7+ !

Anyway, let's hope that we do indeed see those sort of heady prices again.

Super WiFi is good for some areas with a reasonable number of dwellings close together (I'm helping put one live tomorrow as it happens) but the antenna still needs some sort of connection to the internet - perhaps via satellite if the area is remote. There's lots of technologies out there and I think satellite solutions will always be niche but the niche should be plenty big enough for Avanti to prosper. My gut feeling is Africa is a much better target than Europe. IMHO DYOR.

I don't think you guys are being fair on the board.
From £7+ they kept us well informed and the more they told us the further the price dropped.
Since they zipped it the price has been relatively stable or did it reach 'rock' bottom?

It makes me smile when people compare landlines with satellite - I imagine asking for a new cable to be laid to my house and the work needed to rip up roads and join up poles etc to do that, and turn to how quickly a satellite dish can be installed. And then I think of the size of Africa - and I whistle a happy tune!
