If you reading this SC, out of interest I wonder whether you intend to close and at what point..

credit where credit's due - you've called it right so far but AVN is now capitalised at less than the break up value..

Credit where it's due; these directors put their money where their mouth is. You've gotta like that.

Like I have said, if it is good enough for directors, who have all the information, then it is good enough for me. Bought another 7.5k

my guess is there is now about £340 million of capex spent on this - and a market cap of £290 million - certainly sounds a cheap way of buying a fully functioning satellite

I wonder if the directors have set stop losses....

Polykid is back on iii harping on about the AVN iii court case, claiming he can post the details.

I forget on here who knows that is rubbish, perhaps someone can put him/her straight in that regard.

Aghh so what looked like a statement of fact was a personnel guess. Are statements like "Clearly the demand for the service is not meeting expectations" based on anything more than personal (or group) speculation, not with any grounding.

I'm not researching avn anymore. I did my work in November 2010 and decided it was going to dive. Not a bad guess eh. Told Weildy to sell and he did in the high 700's, he did and is v happy.

As I've said before when shares crash without an apparent reason I accept that there is something I don't know going on. More often than not the reason appears.

Pure speculation but speculating is what shares are all about. If we knew all the answers the market wouldn't exist.

The biggest concern here for me is the roll out of new 4G services over the coming years.

Ultra high speed WI-FI networks with ranges of 10s of kilometres will render satellite broadband largely irrelevant. Imo.

Superg1, looking at getting involved in Avanti but where do you get your information on delays to fill bandwidth, can you provide a reference, thanks

People do not seem to appreciate the value a satellite has in orbit which is fully functional. The Hylas 1 sat is a small one compared to some of the US/ European ones that are being launched but it still is worth £300 - £500m in my opinion as an asset. The risk is during launch and H1 has jumped that hurdle. They will get more than 15 years life out of the satellite and its just a matter of time until they sell all of the capacity available.

340p is madness IMO.

there is no manipulation just uncertainty on a non profit making company with debts also lots of small investors are getting fedup with the every decreasing price and selling, small caps in this position are being hit in todays climate, if you are in for the long term best tuck away and forget them for the time being, looks good for the longer term and remember there are institutions that have many millions of clients money invested here.

People seem to forget the MC was 700 to 800m post launch with 1 satellite up.

Why it is a surprise that it has dropped back so much defeats me. The MC is still more than current assets.

going down on small volume. smell a very smelly rat, somethings afoot-not with the company but manipulating the price.
fundamentals are all in tact we are now closer to Hylas 2, fully funded yet we are trading at near insurance value for Hylas I. All i can say is if the company release some more positive RNS's the price could move up like a whipsaw
