Piedro you could not possibly say that "725,000 shares were most likely from the placing" ... its a just theory (like mine)

No mention of them in the placing RNS ...


and I think you also missed this bit ...

"The Placing Shares will be allotted and issued paid up and will rank pari passu with all existing paid up Ordinary Shares. Application has been made for the Placing Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM with trading expected to commence on 31 July 2009."

Share price is down today I was just pointing out a possible reason as to why ... just looks to me like they were the main buyer in the market and now they are done

Anyway I'm sure we would all welcome a correction in the price so we can all top up our current holdings ... this is a long term buy and hold for me

I totally disagree with your two arguments, in italics, as the 725,000 shares were most likely from the placing.

Note:
The placing was for 14,000,000 shares at 225p, (vs. 256p).
We have not been told when those shares would be issued,
nor when they could be sold.
2 Directors added 45,000 the same day.
The company also received £10.7m from ESA

... there was a Placing of 14.0m os on the 01/07/09 ...
Although Avenue Europe Management LLP have increased their number of shares by 725,000, they have had their holding diluted from 9.13%, (27/02/08), to the present 7.77%.

I guess a good consolidation in the share price is to be expected after such a long rise ... the rise has probably been fuelled by Avenue Europe Management LLP increasing there holding (see last rns), I guess they are done buying now so we might see a strong correction and a possible buying opportunity

The earliest available launch window with Arianespace was Q2 2010 and an agreement has now been signed for this. Particularly as a result of the increase in launch service costs and the resultant placing our discounted cash flow derived target price for Avanti's shares has been reduced to 694p. However, as the Hylas project continues to develop and Avanti de-risks additional satellite projects, we consider our target price is likely to be increased materially. With demand for satellite broadband in Europe strong and growing, Hylas set to be the first superfast broadband satellite to be launched in the continent and having very little competition in the niche rural broadband market, we continue to regard the outlook for Avanti as very positive. Our stance remains buy.

Dolores - none of us know where the price will be by tomorrow let alone xmas. It really is quite pointless speculating. For now, however, we can sit back and be pleased that it has broken out of a trading channel, which is very positive.
