Contract Win

Avanti Communications (AIM: AVN), the broadband satellite operator, is pleased to announce a new contract win with TigrisNet Ltd, the international satellite service provider. TigrisNet previously bought capacity on both HYLAS 1 and HYLAS 2, but as a result of expanding demand has increased its commitment to the HYLAS 2 satellite with a further 5 year contract worth an additional $12.2 million. This, together with the first contract announced in December last year, brings the total value of commitments with TigrisNet to over $27 million.

This extended contract will enable TigrisNet to meet the expected growth in the Iraqi telecommunications market as greater competition is introduced and economic activity builds.

TigrisNet is the leading VSAT (Internet via Satellite) provider in Iraq providing a range of services that covers clients from every sector, including Government bodies to SMEs and local ISPs. TigrisNet is also the market leader in Video Conferencing and VoIP.

Commenting, David Williams, Avanti Chief Executive, said:

Equity Developments very comprehensive report was buy and valuing Avanti at 1319p per share......not sure where the 19p came from :-)

Haven't got time to read the messages but glad to see a general turn against RHPS here and on iii. TB is really giving it some. It samks of over hype and someone close to him selling out on the herd moving in. Fortunately most haven't fallen for it, but he's having another go today.

I have reservations about the company and share, I can't help that, it's my opinion.

On the buy side, if the herd reacted in the way he wanted then first thing would have been a good buy time for a bounce up.

That hasn't happened. Someone said let the contracts do the talkng which is a good point.

I didn't buy this morning (thank goodness) as the one and only share I'm invested in had news today. It looks like basic news but is big news for the company.

I haven't bought or sold, an Avanti share and have never shorted any share.

I just think (and call me what you like). that this share was over-hyped by the likes of RHPS and Brokers re the short term. Long term no problem, but short term the numbers were crazy.
The passage have time has shown that and it seems some balance has come to the bb's re AVN.

If big contracts don't appear soon I sense a trickle down until AVN live up to the hype of the punters gagging to get hold of SAT broadband.

I tipped FUM here and on iii and some of the AVN investors have bought in.

If you have the time look at the futura website. the latest deal means they have no future worries no debts 6 employee's and big royalties on lucrative products this year. I know that compnay back to front. Satellites are not my thing but I know BS when I see/hear or read it. Post launch some of the posts on iii were nuts. imo.

Up to you, it makes no difference to me.

I'll pop back once the futura balloon, then perhaps I can be accepted as an honest concerned PI than some of the crazy suggestions here.

Anywat Weildy is happy on iii he got out in the high 700's post launch. Ask him if I'm a crook, shorter, etc etc.

I think you will find I am the complete opposite.

Investec initiated coverage today for Avanti and Inmarsat, they said 'sell'' Avanti tgt 533, ''hold'' Inmarsat tgt 683, seemingly not fans of the sector. NOT agreeing with them at all but obviously such views don't help the share price Can't imagine in dipping to the low 500s, imo it'll be nearer 10-1100 by year end powered by more contract announcements and news on Hylas2 progress later in the year.

Pojscott I know it's hard when the we see the share price drop as this has done over the last two months but keep focused on the business/technology and if you still believe that the business plan is going to be a winner then stick with it as the share price will perform in time. From all I understand I strongly believe it will and we will be well rewarded in time.

I agree have just listened to Bulfords Dynamite stock and it is as certain as it can be it is AVN he is talking about. With the drop we have had recently surely a good time to buy/add.

I know we had a few...... on here trying to talk it down and coming up with a lot of nonsense about technologies that were going to hit AVN but in my opinion anyone who has listened to them has been foolish. Yes if anyone had the foresight to have sold at the peek and buy back now then that would have been shrewd but nobody knew for sure that it was going to slip back as far as it has. I'm confident that come the end of this year it will be a lot higher than where we are now.

I'm glad to see the RHPS recent tip isn't being over-hyped here, that breeds some confidence in the BB.

Check out Fridays buys and tell me the late Friday RHPS wasn't a known event.

I think you guys will get a nice rise come Monday.

For rests info I've finally made my first spread bet, a buy on FUM to get on the tax free version.

I'm considering making my first AVN buy on Monday. If the price is right.

According to a poster on i i i it was indeed one of RHPS Feb tips which came out after markets close last night so will most likely see quite a bit of buying pressure on Monday. Chart certainly looks ripe for a bounce. GLA
