26/1/2011 19:00 | Ah somehow I think that is you and one other not the market ! | ![]() yorgi
26/1/2011 18:18 | Ah, so what I am getting is that market is fearing 1- Test results might be bad and satellite might not come online 2- AVN might not be able to compete with other service providers and loose on profits. If first one is true, we should see share price moving up again, but if it is the later, then....long time to wait and see.. | ![]() attrader
26/1/2011 16:34 | Nothing to complain about today.......now long may it continue :-) | ![]() yorgi
26/1/2011 14:27 | well I'm in since 168p and through the 500p range, averaged at about 370p now so it would take a bit to screw my investment, just surprised at some of the movements, I read this wrong, have seen some nice trading ranges that could have been exploited but always easy to say that with the chart behind rather than ahead of one! | chrissey
26/1/2011 14:14 | You could be right Chrissey :-) My biggest riser....almost..... | ![]() yorgi
26/1/2011 14:10 | look, this damn Hylas is an Xbox with lots of insulation and some gold coloured bacofoil. all they have to do is get the thing into service and keep it pointing in the right direction. it's not rocket science or maybe, thinking about it, in this case we can use the analogy correctly. I never thought of that, rocket science huh. | chrissey
26/1/2011 10:42 | We seem to have turned around again lets hope it continues. As several people have commented we now need some more contract wins reported and yes in service RNS but I think that could be a few more weeks away yet but who knows. | ![]() yorgi
25/1/2011 21:11 | I think the key information that the market is waiting for now is not the news that Hylas 1 has entered service and has started generating revenue but hard information about the prices that can be achieved in practice. Pre-launch sales were discounted. The key question now is can the price assumptions in the brokers notes actually be met in practice? | ![]() mjames20
25/1/2011 16:20 | 50p up would be nice Backmarker..... the right news and a bit of buying and it can happen :-) | ![]() yorgi
25/1/2011 16:14 | that said, the steady recovery today bodes well. | ![]() backmarker
25/1/2011 16:13 | lol, pojscott, it was the "sudden" that I thought a bit extreme. the share price has been bobbing around for days, and a range of 15p and moves of 10p is nothing but par. for me, sudden would be a move of 50p | ![]() backmarker
25/1/2011 16:00 | Sorry backmarker, I should have said recovery today--look at todays graph. Best of luck. | ![]() pojscott
25/1/2011 15:28 | Sudden up in share price ? | ![]() pojscott
25/1/2011 14:31 | re. the testing they are doing. I can envisage a number of scenarios that they may be testing and which require use of the full satellite, although these are all guesses as I have no idea what they are actually doing. traffic loading. they will want to maximise the amount of business and get best use of the satellite capacity. but different customers may use the services in different ways and at different levels. although I would presume a lot of testing of traffic density and its impact could be done on the ground, there's nothing like doing live testing to verify the results. disaster recovery services. if they are going to use this satellite for contingency services, i.e. for use in emergency or disaster scenarios, then they need to understand the impact of switching in a large chunk of capacity all-of-a-sudden under different "normal" capacities. so they will need to test suddenly adding extra throughput to "normal" levels, and determine the impact of this. they will want to maximise the amount of normal traffic, keeping the minimal reasonable for the contingency traffic. and if they get 2 or more disasters simultaneously, how much "standby" capacity should they keep ? and do they have (possibly back-to-back) contingency arrangements with other providers to cater for multi-disaster. will they keep enough for 1 or 2 disasters, then let a third impact the "normal" trafffic ? how much impact would they have ? in all of the above they would need full satellite capacity to play with to simulate and test the different conditions. | ![]() backmarker
25/1/2011 13:54 | We have had plenty over brokers coming up with targets from around £13 to £25 but it is going to take something more than that to get the share price moving it would seem but it will ! | ![]() yorgi
25/1/2011 13:50 | BROKER DANIEL STEWART SAYS BUY 6.08,TARGET 25.20 TODAY | pappupops
25/1/2011 12:45 | Yes you are right Blue it is a "big one" we need and also Hylas1 in service will make a difference I'm sure | ![]() yorgi
25/1/2011 12:43 | Bit unfair on the directors-since the launch of Hylas 1 at the end of November there have been six rns`s regarding contract wins which is not far short of an average of one a week. What we need is a really big one to stimulate interest in the share again and we`ll be up and running. | blue forever
25/1/2011 11:12 | Yes one or two Ib :-) I'm not overly concerned Ib of course I would rather see the share price rising and a lot nearer 800p than 600p but unless we are being kept in the dark then all is well and as you say lack of RNS's has not helped. | ![]() yorgi
25/1/2011 10:49 | Yorgi yorgi - what's happened to this lovely share? I was going to come back in at 650 but hesitated. It will be back but the lack of RNS doesn't do any good as rumour and speculation fuel selling. Good luck anyway - will pop back in soon. See you still have some sticky characters around. | ![]() ib1905
25/1/2011 10:42 | If it falls through 600, then no support until 550. | ![]() someuwin
24/1/2011 23:50 | Believe me Chrissey I'm sure you are no more disappointed than I am that it was not going to be in service in a matter of a two or three weeks but as I say I'm quite sure they know what they are doing. I'm sure David Williams is keeping close eye on matters and wants it in service ASAP but if the technical guys need it free to fine tune "tweak" or whatever then they need it. Yes I do agree with you it is a pity they can't "play' while in service. I do remember from my own time in electronic instrumentation and control systems it is always easier when one has the equipment to work with and not being harassed by users and managers :-) I'm sure the pressure is on ! It will come all look a lot different in a few more weeks Chrissey I'm quite sure. | ![]() yorgi
24/1/2011 23:12 | ok, no point splitting hairs I guess. it's a pity they can't play with it while it is in service and earning much needed revenue. does this then mean that once it is functional, there is no scope to tweak and tune? I think not or, at least, hope not! it's not an Xbox 360 although it maybe has the same computing power. ;-) | chrissey
24/1/2011 21:10 | In an earlier post i said this was an INTERESTING READ I wouldnt worry unless of a nervous disposition | ![]() dnfa1975 |
