? How do you think wireless/mobile phones deliver broadband wirelessly ?

? Given that satellite phones can deliver voice why can they not deliver data and why not broadband data ?

For any techies here - I thought BB was delivered through wires (cable or telephone). How is BB delivered through a satellite? is this high level wifi or something different? Just curious. TIA

Yes i'm sure your quite right Marksnsparkle, we will need the contract wins that is definite. I would expect once launched and fully operational for there to be an increase in contracts signed, well we hope so.

On the subject of cautionary posts, possibly slightly negative.....try posting them on the XEL BB and someone will have that person out of there in a jiffy ;-)

yorgi ... I'm broadly in agreement with you, my only real point is that after an initial pop in the price upon a successfully launch, further near term growth in the share price will be from contract wins ... Avanti are not going to hit a £1 Billion market cap just by launching a satellite :-)

One of the reason I first invested in AVN was David Williams, his focus, commitment, drive and enthusiasm which I have always believed would pay dividends in AVN succeeding in their long term goal.

I believe that fact has always added a "few pence" to AVN's value

yorgi : Point taken. I can only apologise if my tone has been so interpreted .

In the circumstances I suggest we accept that we both accept that our posts have been GENUINE ...otherwise its pointless posting.

Marksnsparkle.....very true it is not the share price that matters but the market cap as you rightly point out. Yes the SP/Market cap would be high but it is not so unusual for a high tech company with such long term growth and revenue stream. In the end the market will decide what it values AVN at

wendsworth ... problem is everybody likes to talk about price, without a second thought for what the market cap is

Avanti has a market cap of just over £500 Million and the first satellite will generate a maximum of £30 Million revenue for 15 years (I think my memory serves me correct)

And I believe they have currently pre sold 15% of the capacity, i.e. £4.5 Million

So I do believe a successful launch will see a pop through £7, but like you I don't believe we will see £10 by the end of next week ... because the numbers just don't add up

The last sale following the 25000 pattern was 29800. I think he has just cleared the last shares out of his holding. Onwards and upwards, rocket and share price

backmarker - where the possibility of a deep event-related price plunge is considered to be a risk, but where the ongoing prospects for the company are considered good enough for the setback to be temporary, it could be argued that you are better off setting no stops at all rather than deep ones - and instead merely ensuring that you have enough margin within your spreadbet account to cover the dip and await the recovery. Otherwise you risk getting stopped out on a brief but severe downspike that could be deep enough to take out stops 200-300pts away.
