29/10/2010 15:02 | Thanks boys and girls for the info. It explains why the share price dived. I'm grateful for the hard work on this AVN thread(SS, Scott et al)and the sharing of research. Its good to see a sensible thread. I was lucky enough to jump on board today at 601 (should have waited a little longer but had twitchy fingers!) Lets hope that AVN share price joins Hylas 1 in orbit. | cantonblue
29/10/2010 14:29 | I can see a double-double check being completed before the launch, as the firm will not want a sequential failure. Statistically (in terms of the possibility/risk of a sequential failure) this is probably good news. | bongo bwana
29/10/2010 14:13 | Don't see any reason why it should Jprouten | yorgi
29/10/2010 14:13 | all clear now deveraux thanks but as sco77h identifies this is about confidence and risk.. I for one am staying in | ib1905
29/10/2010 14:12 | Will this affect our launch then? | jprouten
29/10/2010 14:02 | hasnt his eutelsat too hard also was this a ka band sat? in which case would be good news | sco77harris
29/10/2010 14:01 | lol is that the one launched yesterday? well i guess in terms of probability that reduces our risk. | sco77harris
29/10/2010 14:01 | So the launch went OK but the satellite itslef was faulty. Hmmmmmm.. S | smarm
29/10/2010 13:51 | ib1905 - 820 Eutelstat regrets to announce that one of our satelites is missing ! Launched last night and developed a fault. This is the reason for the shake up/down | devereaux
29/10/2010 12:29 | Just topped up with another 2500 at £5.875 so well pleased given we are only 27 days from launch now and all looking good. MM trying to bring an institution on board before lift off! | adorling
29/10/2010 12:07 | Hmmm - last night's launch hasn't done Eutelsat's share price any good: | strollingmolby
29/10/2010 11:57 | Keral's Latest News....no not the drop in the sp!. | share_shark
29/10/2010 11:46 | It does seem odly amusing, earlier this week we have yet another contract anounced, Ariane has another launch go to plan and AVN's share price is dropped.... | yorgi
29/10/2010 11:42 | With 39 consecutive launches if the next one were to fail it would be the 1 in 40. By my reckoning that gives a 3% chance of failure to avanti's launch. Obviously nothing is that straight forward, but when equating a risk reward ratio it certainly puts it into perspective. | hardrider8
29/10/2010 11:39 | Yes we had one a couple of weeks ago and as soon as a few nervous holders sold out it was back up again.....I don't think there is anything to worry about but what who knows !!! | yorgi
29/10/2010 11:34 | Who knows. Probably just a tree shake. Seen this kind of thing done time and time again with Avanti........... | jimbo55
29/10/2010 09:30 | Looking over shoulder now hehehehe And SS, Ive spent my life watching THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | bongo bwana
29/10/2010 08:44 | Just in SS. Delighted and relieved for AVN and 'Yorgie' too. However, in all my professional career I have learned to assess each case/scenario on its individual merits and otherwise. The successful launch is reassuring. It does not however, alter the risk profile. But, its a risk profile Im very happy with. | bongo bwana |
