At some point you’d expect the repositioning to conclude, if indeed it hasn’t already. Then things could get interesting, even with the markets the way they currently are. Further contract news would be great of course, but the LG Chem deal should be enough for a re rate really. Let’s see where the next few weeks takes us.

Very good point @Bumpa, just over 23m shares in freefloat if the percentages stay the same.

As I said earlier this week, if we get more positive contract news it could really fly, as the overhang is gone/largely gone & “musical chairs” between large holders have concluded.

from the last Bloomberg Shareholder list I had, the stock was 78.51% held - top 19 holders.

Clearly there has been some ‘musical chairs’ in holdings since then and I’m guessing still some TR1’s to come, but assuming that overall this percentage of insti/notifiable holders stays roughly consistent, that’s not much of a free float out there for everyone else...

A rule in a potential bear market of 2019 which will yield nothing.

You need to weigh up current market conditions and play them.

Disagree that it depends on the markets, unless we have an armageddon event. With a 33m Mcap if the positive news flow continues in 2019 the current share price will increase considerably.

Trading is fine but it’s such behaviour that has held the current share price below 33p since the LG deal, as every time we get momentum a rash of 10% profit taking occurs.

The simplest rule that allows the price to rise and derisks fully it to sell half when the price doubles, leaving a free carry on the remainder.

Depends on the overall markets.

Even if you are a long term investor it would do you good to trade your holdings as well if they have a good run.

Say for example you hold 100k in this, trade 25k and hold 75k, say it spikes to 33p sell 25k, if it keeps rising great you hold 75k but if it drifts back to 30p you buy back the 25k you sold and bank £750 rinse and repeat, I'm sure that money would pay some bills. If we have a tough 2019 you'd be glad of all the trading profits you have made.

Onwards and upwards Dave, 2019 is going to be a transforming year. The market cap is tiny compared to the sums that will be coming our way.

Yep good to see another large holder increasing their shareholding. Just need to see the back of Aviva & Ruffer and we should be free to move up without any selling.

Having read back through this thread there are a number of posters, in particular Wan, who became disillusioned with the progress made by Avacta and for a myriad of different reasons they sold their shares.

The first in man trials are due to start in 2020, and in the meantime we have had a number of very positive developments, so now seems like the perfect time for any previous investors to get back in.

What I thought was particularly interesting was announcing the appointment of Dr Jose Saro just 2 days after the LG deal. It could be coincidence, but was he waiting for LG to complete their due diligence and announce the deal before he committed himself? I truly believe that the deal was a game changer, and that the coming months will illustrate this.

One thing is for sure, if we announce another deal like LG, the share price won’t ever be revisiting the 28p levels again ;)

Hope everyone has had a fantastic Christmas & best wishes for the New Year!

Think we’ll get another Lombard Odier TR1 either today or Monday as they have been adding since the last RNS, be nice if they were over 10%

Updated list of significant shareholders at 17 Dec as per the Avacta website are as follows:

IP Group plc – 18.15%
J O Hambro – 9.92%
Baillie Gifford – 8.54%
Lombard Odier – 7.64%
Carlton Holdings – 7.28%
Fidelity - 5.89%
Ruffer LLP – 3.72%
Unicorn Asset Management – 3.46%

So IP Group, Baillie Gifford, Carlton, Fidelity & Unicorn unchanged

Aviva decreasing as we know, along with Ruffer, with Hambro & Lombard presumably taking their holdings.

From earlier in this thread, Finncap had the holdings as follows last Monday;

IP Group 18.2%
Baillie Gifford 8.5%
JO Hambro 7.9%
Carlton Holdings Int. 7.3%
Fidelity 5.9%
Aviva 5.6%
Ruffer 4.7%
Lombard Odier Asset Mgt 4.6%
Unicor Asset Mgt 3.5%

And Bumpa33 posted the following from Bloomberg last week;

IP Group 14.65%
Baillie Gifford 8.54%
Pendal Group 7.88% (JO Hambro?)
Carlton Holdings 7.28%
Aviva 5.86%
FIL Ltd 5.23%
Ruffer LLP 4.70%
Unicorn Investment Fund 3.46%
Jarvis 3%
Strathclyde Pension Trust 2.99%
Mole Valley Asset Mgt 2.66%
Lombard Odier 1.64%

@Bumpa33 any update to the above on Bloomberg?

Still a moving picture, but looks to be a consolidation ongoing which will result in 7 II’s owning over 60% of the shares!
