I think HMRC has until about the 19th August to appeal so I would not be surprised if there was another PUSU extension to cover that event.

I wonder what they have been doing? How can it take two months to do the DD? And what's the plan if HMRC has not appealed (or said that it will not appeal) before the deadline ? Another extension?

Augean, would be my guess. They'll want to flush out interest. Mills is the king maker and has shown himself to be impervious if the bid is too low. I think it was he that scuppered the bid for SPO last Dec - btw that's just my opinion.

Bloomberg leaked it just after market close on Wednesday. So Augean had to put an announcement out.

The question is - who leaked? MS? or Augean?

(Talking of which - the second AUG announcement mentioned the MS statement - I've not seen this. Can anyone point me to the statement they released?)

The way it has been leaked is suspicious. Are they trying to flush out more bidders? Morgan Stanley could have just said nothing rather then confirm “preliminary stages of considering’. Its been a great investment from well below £1.

“Morgan Stanley Infrastructure, an infrastructure-investment arm of the U.S. bank, confirmed that it is in the preliminary stages of considering an approach to Augean in response to recent press reports. The move was first reported by Bloomberg.

There can be no certainty that an offer will ultimately be made for Augean, nor as to its potential terms, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure said.

In response, Augean confirmed it hasn't received an approach regarding an offer from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure and said that a further announcement will be made when appropriate”

me neither. It will be intersting to see if others enter the picture, and also what view the Board hold on this. It certainly endorses shareholders' view of a company when a bid becomes a possibiity and I see this now climbing further as speculative investments are made. I might buy more mysself!

Good to see another broker (Stifel) initiate coverage of Augean today. It has a Buy rating and 294p target price.
