I posted that somewhere else not long ago ( Today 09:26 ) ...

The mark-down it was only a way for the MMs to fill their books as they are large buyers on the market today. Though the offer is at 2000p, any small buy MMs are asking 2019p.

The point is that AIM and many who lurk around almost killed off the company. It's a scandal that people operate here with the sole intention of damaging fledging companies. Audioboom maybe shouldn't have come to market so quickly back in 2014. It's progress was severely hampered for a few years.

It's exactly 8 years since Audiboom completed its IPO in April 2014 at an issue price of 1.5p ( now £1.50). It opened trading at 4p ( now £4). There were 50 million ( now 500,000) issued shares giving a market cap of £20m on first day. The company chose to go the public route early on and paid a heavy price for being in the gaze of those who wanted to give the company a tough ride and endanger its future. It survived even though each time it came to the market for more funds it was heavily criticised. So against the odds, Audiboom has thrived standing at a market cap of £288m and has been a super success story for a British company in the podcasting industry.

Spotify Stock Continues to Thrive Amidst the Podcasting Boom

Spotify (NYSE:SPOT) stock has had a challenging run at the market, shedding over 50% of its value in the past year. Its fourth-quarter earnings release reported a dim user forecast for its upcoming quarter, which sent SPOT stock into a free-fall. However, investors have made a big deal of the company’s short-term weakness, which is unlikely to have a long-term impact on its results this year. Moreover, with the addition of new podcasting businesses, Spotify will continue to expand its market share in the space.

In the past year, Spotify’s share price weakness is largely attributable to its prioritization of long-term growth over margins. During the recent earnings call, its management acknowledged how investments had altered their consolidated gross margin targets. However, they believe that these investments will drive future growth in its top and bottom lines. Hence, the business is sacrificing short-term margin growth to drive expansion in the coming years.

The Growth Machine Is Intact
Spotify’s first-quarter subscriber update didn’t sit too well with investors. There was just a three million bump in its paid subscriber base from 180 million subscribers during the fourth quarter. However, Chief Financial Officer Paul Vogel believes that the unimpressive update will have little impact on the company’s monthly active users (MAUs) growth in 2022.....

Anyone's guess Bear. People getting bored, some needing money. But surely we must take note of Tobin who has bought most days in the last month. He can't buy now because of the Q1 results in 8 working days. He exercised his options a few weeks ago paying for them and keeping the shares. He has doubled his holding from 2pc to over 4pc investing almost GBP 1 million. He can't give more of an indication than this. And I don't think it's all about good Q1 results. He must know what the revenue is likely to be with the remainder of March only 2 days away! So whilst the market goes up and down I feel sure there is excellent news on 11th April with Q1 results, trading update and the views on management on M&A. FinnCap will be on top of this with a new note as well.

After the News back about a month ago on Sky that a takeover was imminent things have gone very quiet, any thoughts on what's happening? The share price seems to have got stuck although we usually see a bit of a run up to any trading update. Must admit I did add some last week.

Looks like the large buyers are back on looking at the delayed trades and one as early as 7 seconds after opening but had to pay 20p premium. as it did the next one less than 2 minutes later, most likely the same person...

Just done the calculation. Since 2nd March to yesterday Tobin bought in open market 4,836 shares at an average price of GBP18.70 which is GBP90k. Also 250,000 exercise of warrants at GBP3 each I'm assuming. This is a heck of an investment.

Yes, now almost every day buy, doing it this way does not make much damage to the share price and can buy them at a very good price.

The message sent is the clue

Is Tobin buying batches each day because the stock is illiquid and he doesn’t want to move the price? Its as if BOOM have their own sponsored private share buyback programme! I guess with results next month he won’t be able to buy much longer. Interesting times here.
