18/8/2022 18:46 | Gandolf, another loser just out for bragging rights “ I called the bottom “ is what gandolf wants to say … He wants thumbs up 👍. He needs “likes “. Highly Emotional kinda guy / investor . As mentioned by others . Show some patience . Wait for an established uptrend with tailwinds . Headwinds in every single direction for these types of companies at the moment . This cost of living crisis is only just getting started . In Marshall Wace we trust | melegramforttongo
18/8/2022 18:29 | ok you try to time the market, I am a long investor I do not time the market. I not have time. | jgandolfi1
18/8/2022 17:26 | ASOS will make 'Lower Lows' in due course so why not just have a little more patience before getting all too lively and its not wise to play against institutional shorts as they certainly dont take on considerable risk unduly! | one_frankel
18/8/2022 15:57 | I see it is a good time to buy, we can talk about this in 3-5 years, what is the chance to this go down 50% in 5 years? what is the chance to go up 300% ( to 2500 ) in the next 5 years? | jgandolfi1
18/8/2022 15:43 | It's all over for ASC | lodgeview
18/8/2022 11:09 | It is a completely different scenario to anything that we've ever encountered before Fuji but theres one overriding issue you fail to acknowledge! ...Decades long favourable QE policies of Central Banks which has led to cracks now appearing in the sustainability of the global financial system and that is of the essence to all our daily lives but if you consider that with all those other brewing undercurrents you state, then theres no doubt challenging times await so dont become too hasty with all your investing in this incredibly treacherous market environment either. | one_frankel
18/8/2022 10:14 | She will go back to 7000 in a few years mate ! | delspirido
18/8/2022 09:50 | And asos got decent stock just for the reasons you've explained.... | wolfofhounslow
18/8/2022 09:24 | IMO this time is very different from previous recessions/financial crisis. Before, there was a recovery after the negative cycle ends. Today with higher inflation we have two critical unknowns: 1/ Russia/Ukraine conflict with no end on sight and 2/ China/Taiwan tensions looking like a mine field. From the first we inherited inflation for food and energy and from the second a possible bottle neck for microprocessors as Taiwan hold 61% of the world production and this could be a new big problem as it affects every industry. Imagine China putting an embargo on Taiwan ! This is why it is impossible to extrapolate the present situation to past events. When you have such dangerous uncertainty, there is no long term investment at all and the markets become casinos. Thus why it is very risky to overlook geopolitical issues affecting the whole world and get drawn into a full investment as if everything is normal. | fuji99
18/8/2022 07:13 | Capital raise incoming at 825-850 | dillydally2
18/8/2022 07:10 | ASOS chief financial officer and chief operating officer Mathew Dunn has agreed to a 'phased' exit from the business over the coming months. Dunn will continue in his roles and as a member of the board until at least 31 October, and will stay on as an employee until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition. ASOS is on the hunt for a new CFO. | ukneonboy
17/8/2022 19:06 | Looks like this will be another DEB. Totally and utterly f@cked!! | lodgeview
17/8/2022 17:19 | Everything is good in hindsight JGandolfi but I dont think many anticipated how troubling situations would become so soon... And this type of elevated inflation is not normal and hugely detrimental to the world economy and you just have to look at what's going on in countries such as Argentina and Turkey who are experiencing soaring inflation whilst their central banks are accomodating that with excessive rises in their 'MAIN' interest rates and believe me that will lead to contagion in the world over in due course... Then add to the mix, a flurry of inevitable defaults not only in companies across the wider market who have bitten off more than they can chew but who are now facing some very stern times ahead with the aggressive fiscal policies of Central Banks but also across the emerging markets with countries like Sri Lanka which will no doubt be felt across the wider chain and so we are heading for some incredibly challenging times in the months/year ahead so dont get too overzealous with all your investing just yet buddy! | one_frankel
17/8/2022 16:08 | I know is not simple, but about mortgages I expected people to make a fix rate at least 5 years I did this with 1.75% interest. I am Brazilian and live here only for 5 years and I know when interest go up you need to fix your mortgage. Brazil have higher inflation it is normal it is not end of the world . Have 1 year I get 25% inflation what I did is simple I invested and make a lot of money. I live in a cycle and will finish in some time and return again. | jgandolfi1
17/8/2022 15:49 | Its not as simple as that JGandolfi as you haven't factored in rising interest rates where a significant number of the population have mortgages and that in turn will lead to less disposable income and wages have risen nowhere near as fast when compared against those other fiscal measures! | one_frankel
17/8/2022 15:44 | You won't be seeing anything like a bullish market we had before for a very long time JGandolfi and situations with the global economy are actually getting worse not improving regardless of what the US continues to paint so if you're keen on investing here or wherever its better to build, accumulate and reduce with playing the price action and if you have no interest in day-to-day trading then drip feed in smaller amounts instead of getting all too lively at the first instance as this is an incredibly dangerous and treacherous market even for the highly learned! | one_frankel
17/8/2022 15:38 | I have another point for this : You have a salary of 40K years + your with 40K year , total 80K ( I know people receive more or less than this inflation will affect who have a low income ). 80 per year, you spend in all bill before the high inflation 56K and save 24K per year to invest ( I suggest you save at least 30% but ok ) now your bills + inflation will be 52K but you receive an increase of at least 4% ( if your company does not increase at least 4% it is time to move on ) 80K + 4% = 83.200 in this case, your inflation will be half 5%. it is a simple case but you can see not all will be affect by inflation and the inflation is up because people continue to spend | jgandolfi1
17/8/2022 15:23 | do you think this issue will be for more than 5 years? I am no day trade | jgandolfi1
17/8/2022 14:38 | "ASOS is a baby in the US and can grow up very fast" - You forgot it has to cater for XXXXXL's; at what price if more material is needed ? | fuji99
17/8/2022 14:03 | asos control 35% of the market in the UK and only 3% of the US, 65% of revenue came from UK and 17 from the US ( only has 3% of the market and gets 17% of revenue ) US is bigger, ASOS is a baby in the US and can grow up very fast | jgandolfi1 |
