ASOS has seen its market share eroded again with sales falling by a staggering 18%

In comparison, City analysts point to the success of clothing rival SHEIN, which now enjoys UK sales of more than £1 billion per year, partly thanks to it buying the Missguided clothing brand from Mike Ashley's Frasers Group..

Analysts have suggested the company is likely to see a slowdown in sales decline over the current half-year due to the turnaround plan.
However, Shore indicated this faces pressure from “wider trading backdrop of balancing a challenging position of supply concerns, still cautious consumer confidence, poor seasonal weather in the UK and dynamic competition”.
The brokerage said the growth of marketplace platforms such as Depop and Vinted is also attracting typical Asos customers, while it is also coming under pressure from the rapid growth of recent rivals such as Shein and Temu.

Facts n the lads have already warned of this before .
Anyone listening to them wouldn’t have lost out .

My point is similar as fast fashion has had its day.
Step forward more expensive but much more higher quality clothing ( that can be sold on much easier ) and a huge rise in the second hand market .
The haves will be able to afford new , the have nots will buy 2nd or third hand .

Over 3 Years --- ASOS shareholders have lost 93.64 of their capital

Over 1 Year --- ASOS shareholders have lost 53.55% of their capital

Financial losses ? Good progress on implementing the Back to Fashion strategy, including action to clear aged stock and transition to the new operating model by FY25. Ahead on plan to improve stock efficiency and reduce inventory to c.£600m by year end. Test & React is now tracking at c.5% of own-brand sales, bringing high-fashion product from design to site in 2 to 3 weeks increasing our agility in responding to rapidly evolving customer demand.· Free cash flow improved by c.£240m compared to H1 FY23 due to improvements in underlying profitability and the clearance of aged stock

Throg:

"Worse still, the bond currently only trades at about 59p on every £1"

The bond has a coupon of 0.75% - it would be expected to trade below par given current interest rates. Google can provide lots of useful info on the interaction between bond values and movements in interest rates (if you wanted a weekend read).

2023 Balance sheet shows net assets 900m which is after taking off the liabilities which includes the loan. Granted the 900m includes goodwill but even if you write that off entirely - there are still assets c £1200m to cover the non current liabilities so suspect the options are not as limited as intimated.
