Appointment of a corporate broker. A placing or asset sales?

what is a 'value driven strategy'? That looks like market slang for asset divesting

Mount Teide (11896). My ARS is in ISA/SIP, except for a small spreadbet (500PP) taken out at 4p.
My plan had been to trade the SB on news, but I haven't had the heart to close it, now it stands to pay for the next holiday :)

Asiamet Resources (ARS LN) 11.8p, Mkt Cap £101m – Start of Drilling at Beutong

Asiamet Resources reports that it has started drilling at its Beutong copper-gold project in Aceh, Indonesia where the company is in the process of earning an increase from its current 40% interest to an 80% interest.

The planned drilling programme consists of approximately 4,000m metres in eight holes up to 75m deep. The programme has “been designed to provide critical information on the vertical and lateral distribution of the secondary sulphide mineralisation, test the strike and depth potential of the Beutong system, and fulfil our commitments in respect of the IUP-OP permit”.

The Beutong project, which is located approximately 60km inland from the coastal town of Meulaboh in Sumatra and served by a nearby sealed road, has an existing measured and indicated resource estimate of 93mt at an average grade of 0.61% copper with 0.13g/t gold, 1.97g/t silver and 0.01% molybdenum with an additional inferred resource of a further 418mt at an average grade of 0.45% copper, 0.13g/t gold, 1.11g/t silver and 0.01% molybdenum.

The deposit outcrops at surface and remains “open in several directions including to depth.” The company comments that “Geological observations indicate excellent potential for the presence of a high-grade copper-gold core at depth similar to that seen in some of the giant Asia-Pacific porphyry systems such Wafi-Golpu (Newcrest, PNG) and Grasberg (Freeport, Indonesia). Drilling designed to test this potential is planned.”

The drilling is intended, initially, to test for possible eastward extensions of the mineralisation encountered in hole BEU0900-01 which intersected 374.4m at an average grade of 0.89% copper and also to “obtain representative sample for metallurgical test work.”

The metallurgical testing “will assess the potential for developing a large-scale heap leach SX-EW mining operation to produce copper cathode at Beutong”.

Conclusion: The new phase of drilling at Beutong will assess possible extensions to the existing resource and provide samples for metallurgical testing to establish the suitability of the material for heap leaching and SX/EW recovery of copper cathode. We look forward to results as they become available.

If this new high holds (at close) then 17p will come fairly quickly as word gets around.

Highly Geared - no prob.

M.T. Cannot disagree with what you say. Short termers help those who have long term goals by allowing top-ups at low prices. I think many of us have enjoyed being "scalpers" until we learn lessons.
Like others here the vast majority of my holding was bought below 2.5p but I am no way tempted to sell. I have looked, but cannot find any other AIM share with such growth potential.

Chart wise on the cusp of breaking through resistance. Will be interesting to see how today/ tomorrow plays out but good to see the deep embedded value in Asiamet is starting to be reflected in the share price.

For those who like to average up as the investment case strengthens - the 10% scalping brigade provide a useful service by providing a regular flow of pullback buying opportunities.

A 15% trailing stop loss over the last year would have been stopped out at least 7 times, while a LTBH strategy has delivered 242% Capital Growth.

LTBH may be deeply unfashionable today BUT unlike short term trading(gambling), with good stock-picking it is an investment strategy that continues to prove the test of time.

Red; fair comment and no intention to offend. There is a degree of 10% scalping with this share by traders. I try to ignore this and focus on the fundamentals. All the best.

succinctly summed up....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Beutong is a large high-quality copper, gold, silver, molybdenum deposit which outcrops at surface and remains open in several directions including to depth. Potential to increase the size of the deposits with further drilling is considered high.

-- Geological observations indicate excellent potential for the presence of a high-grade copper-gold core at depth similar to that seen in some of the giant Asia-Pacific porphyry systems such Wafi-Golpu (Newcrest, PNG) and Grasberg (Freeport, Indonesia). Drilling designed to test this potential is planned.

-- Initial drilling is designed to simultaneously test for extensions of the porphyry Cu-Au mineralisation to the east where previous drilling (hole BEU0900-01 794.5m EOH) intersected 374.4m @ 0.89% Cu, 0.20g/t Au from 4.8m depth (refer ARS Press Release 8 January 2018) and to obtain representative sample for metallurgical test work

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beutong is a monster and "similar" to the likes of Wafi and Grasberg! We're going to be fighting interest off with a big stick. No wonder we need to close the value gap. If a bid were to come this year, anything less than 50p would not get my vote. Indeed, i'd be looking closer to 70-80p but would prefer for the Bod to keep on doing what they've been doing so well for the last few years.

Highly Geared - read my post - too many small trades going through which normally equate to nervous investors ie those that want to sell at the drop of a hat which is what is happening this morning.
I am not talking about major shareholders.

Quoted and actual spread has got tighter which hopefully will attract those that have been on the sidelines or only heard about the company for the first time yesterday after the Liberum note.

Have had a little good fortune over the last few days as I was looking to move 450k into the ISA. Took a chance while they were down in the 9-10p range to buy them in the ISA but haven’t sold them outside yet. Just feel the company is on a real offensive at the moment to address the valuation anomaly and momentum is starting to build as we near all time highs.

Well, we’ve certainly broken out from the recent bullish descending wedge. Let’s see what happens but 15p on the next up leg might happen.

I have to smile and chuckle to myself as to how newsflow is managed here; masterful...
