25/10/2018 16:43 | Additionally, Steve is still a relatively young man and has been 'paid' in incentivised share options for three years - which means he will have covered his and his young families living expenses out of his own pocket for nearly four years, with little likely change in that scenario for another 1-2 years. | mount teide
25/10/2018 16:42 | ar - maybe, but part of an exploration Geo's job is to travel and the world is a small place when you can just step on a plane to get you just about anywhere on the planet. | charles clore
25/10/2018 16:35 | I'm pretty sure one of the reasons was family oriented, CC. Jamaica is a lot closer to Canada than Indonesia.... | arhaych
25/10/2018 16:27 | I keep asking myself - why would Steve leave potentially the biggest project of his career? He was on a huge roll at the time with discovery after discovery and better and better grades being reported. Did he know at the time he left that the BFS would never be completed on time? I suspect he did. We had a few warning shots and nobody took any notice as the share price stagnated for most of this year. That man is no fool. I am still here but hurting and the pain is going to last well into next year. | charles clore
25/10/2018 16:18 | Thought I would listen to last weeks podcast again First 30 seconds "Asiamet has a MCAP of around £100m" - at the exact time this was recorded, £40m was being wiped off that and they had literally no idea... Great so see them coming out with a robust plan and co-ordinated comms offensive this week...oh no wait..... Beutong sounds like the white knight that can come in over the hill..... Meanwhile they boys have acheived a 12 month low and we are 10% down year on year. I would say the only way is up......but on current form.... | 2lb
25/10/2018 15:02 | Once ARS starts pushing the drilling out again excitement levels will rise. In house, so low cost to do and will no doubt be tackling as quickly as possible, knowing the end is in sight. ARS will soon be back in favour and all this will be behind us. | aim0raider
25/10/2018 14:52 | SithUK - the only reliable Chinese data is that provided by Chinese Port Customs - with respect to Chinese copper ore/concentrate imports - these are currently at two decade highs. Chinese warehouse stock levels are highly unreliable as a result of widespread fraud - one US underwriter of a large consignment shipped into a Port of Shanghai warehouse turned up some 6 months later to inspect the consignment only to find there was no trace of it. The warehouse managers on being asked for an explanation astonished the underwriters by claiming the multi $million consignment "must of been stolen!". After engaging private investigators it was subsequently established that after its illegal removal from the warehouse(an inside job), it had been used to effect a major loan fraud (while still appearing as in stock) - it had been used not once but twice as collateral to raise massive cash loans for the 'owners'. | mount teide
25/10/2018 14:11 | We know China is stocking metals in anticipation for EV demand in China | jailbird
25/10/2018 14:00 | Copper is moved around between various stock systems. A drawdown on one can mean the stock is being moved to another. For example, Shanghai. It's difficult to get data for Shanghai unfortunately. | sithuk
25/10/2018 13:56 | So if LME inventories do not correlate with supply and demand and prices What is driving prices ? | jailbird
25/10/2018 13:32 | For interest, the charts of the copper price and the LME wharehouse Stock level are below, both over the past five years. There appears to be little or no correlation between the two, surprisingly. "> | horneblower

25/10/2018 12:55 | Peter Bird, Asiamet's Chief Executive Officer commented: "The 2018 drilling program at Beutong has consistently met or exceeded expectations and provided greatly improved definition across the Beutong East and Beutong West porphyry deposits. The two systems remain open in multiple directions with recent drilling suggesting they may coalesce at depth. Strong copper, gold and molybdenum grades and the presence of highly mineralised magnetite bearing breccia clasts proximal to a large magnetic feature modelled below current drilling are very exciting as such features are often associated with the high grade cores of world class porphyry systems such as Newcrest's Wafi-Golpu and Solgold's Cascabel. | okidokicoki
25/10/2018 12:51 | ARS owns one of the best copper assets in the world taking into consideration its mining cost economics and its location. Although we are at a low point right now...and we may go even lower...there should be huge satisfaction in the knowledge that China leads the way in EV manufacture and, whatever battery systems may emerge in the future, world copper usage can only surge. This is a long game. I look forward to the next couple of years with great confidence. | horneblower
25/10/2018 10:09 | The bod here would have learnt a lot about the AIM market, the value that sentiment plays on the market, the importance of communication and hopefully themselves over the past week or so. They will be working above and beyond to get this right, but of course all shareholders deserve news on the 'new' approach extremely quickly, news that provides answers to as many open questions as it possibly can. Otherwise a castigated response to this will be a severe understatement. | tektonik
25/10/2018 10:05 | Aside from the hesitancy throughout, the podcast mentioned again, the likelihood of this joined system under Beutong. Lost within the madness of the day, did anyone pick up on the significance of this, how big could Beutong be? | aim0raider
25/10/2018 09:56 | It is great to see Steve Hughes perform in his usual, ebullient way for CUC and the comparison with Tony and Peter really makes them seem like amateurs. However, Steve's infectious enthusiasm is probably just as misleading as T and P's hesitant dirge. Probably they would be wise to stick to factual and timely RNS's in future. | horneblower
25/10/2018 09:51 | Interesting to see HZM are finally delivering their BFS on Monday. Different metal being mined to ourselves of course, but I'll be following their progress post-BFS very closely. | arhaych
25/10/2018 09:49 | I listened to the podcast again and as snickerdog says there is some good stuff in there. Over optimistic guidance is behind us. A more robust BFS, a higher copper price, more drilling at KSK, Baroi permit, Berenberg initiation and exciting developments at Beutong are all ahead of us. All at the ridiculous bargain price of 6.6p!!!!!! | buildit1
25/10/2018 09:45 | Agreed on all points Tektonik, especially the over exposed bit on ARS. The management need to hire someone with Steve's exuberance for the podcasts because Tony and Peter come across more laurel and hardy than A team. I do wonder what the thinking was there. As regards CUC it may develop into something but it is a long long play. | mrpiggy
25/10/2018 09:27 | Piggy nobody is trading ARS for CUC. I personally found a huge amount of irony in the Steve Hughes appearance representing CUC, especially considering our recent situation. If anything I'm over exposed in ARS and will be a long while yet. | tektonik
25/10/2018 09:26 | 450k @ 6.45, 500k @6.31. Still 6.40 x 6.80. Test sale gave up 6.50. | knokke1
25/10/2018 09:16 | There's no holding back the copper market, no way. Spot price still holding within that flag. | aim0raider |
