25/10/2018 09:16 | There's no holding back the copper market, no way. Spot price still holding within that flag. | aim0raider

25/10/2018 08:47 | edit - beat me to it jailbird! Couple of interesting posts on the Glen board by PurplePanther: From Freeport McMoran ... and really quite supportive for the copper price ... Bloomberg reports Freeport CEO Richard Adkerson told analysts on the miner’s third-quarter earnings conference call on Wednesday the gloomy outlook and uncertainty is prompting the Phoenix-based company to slow plans for large scale expansion projects despite predictions of a market deficit. Reduced spending on projects will add to the impending supply gap in copper markets, Adkerson said, adding that the company view remains unchanged and long-term fundamentals for the bellwether metal are increasingly strong: “It is a paradox right now: physical markets are tight, fundamental drivers remain very positive and yet sentiment about the commodity and about companies like ours in the investor marketplace is what it is. Speculators are bearish about copper “due to macro-drivers, and this is having a significant impact on price.” And: Just in case your faith in copper is being shaken .... “While conventional cars have 18-49 pounds of copper, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) contain approximately 85 pounds, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) use 132 pounds, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) contain 183 pounds, a hybrid electric bus contains 196 pounds, and a battery electric bus contains 814 pounds” And the whole world is about to fast track to electric and remember there’s all the infrastructure to build out behind that too | fireplace22
25/10/2018 08:32 | Yes, that seems to be the case currently but it has to change, take a look at LME, copper is within a few tons of a five year low in the warehouse.... the tide has to turn and soon, demand is outstripping supply. | mrpiggy

24/10/2018 23:50 | Fxck me, sometimes you guys are away with the tooth fairies. CUC are on almost a year low... that's for a reason, they have proven up fxck all and it will require shed loads of funding. Think I'm wrong then sell up your holdings in ARS and buy CUC and we will discuss this again in 6 months time. Jeez I seriously worry about you guys. | mrpiggy
24/10/2018 19:55 | Dorset worth listening to the interview again, there's a lot of good stuff in there. | snickerdog
24/10/2018 19:53 | I just had to crack a smile at that earlier Dorset, I wonder what Mr. Copper/Zinc's thoughts are on the last week - of course he has c.3m shares in ARS. | tektonik

24/10/2018 16:09 | Nothing has changed, the discovery is still there. I've just bought 50% at 6.80p. I don't think this weakness will last much longer. | davidspringbank
24/10/2018 15:49 | davidspringbank, the reason for last weeks drop had nothing to do with any twitter feed but more to do with the twits in the ARS office. | dorset64
24/10/2018 15:44 | I couldn't understand how this had gone from 6p - 14p - 6p and then I found the Twitter generation. They must be the same mob that took Bitcoin up to dizzying heights before it all collapsed around their ears? Lol | davidspringbank
24/10/2018 15:06 | Either way, the bod need to deliver and soon. A "monumental" year alright. One I'll never forget. | mr roper
24/10/2018 14:53 | Deals in the copper mining industry are almost inevitable as companies scramble to gain access to new deposits, says the head of Freeport-McMoRan, one of the world’s biggest producers of the industrial metal. (Article not behind paywall) | zho
24/10/2018 14:50 | Looks very much that it's going to be the partner route. Probably been working on that. My 2 x 100k buys should show up soon. Most of us LTHs are here for another couple of years at least. Might have another look down side of my favourite sofa!!! | littlemadam
24/10/2018 13:15 | It's no secret that they are working on a number of options regarding Beutong we shall just have to see - following the Solgold deal it's hard not to see it being of interest to either a Western or Chinese major | snickerdog
24/10/2018 13:08 | Arden Partner's analyst has a similar view to my own with respect to the potential investment significance of last week's botched announcements; Standing back and allowing the wood(latest Beutong drill results and modelling) to be seen from the trees(poor BKM/BFS communication) reveals a significant development: The intention to fast track a deep drill evaluation and development of Beutong - most likely by securing a 'major' partner for the project. This has the potential to monetise the assets far quicker than anything Asia Met may do at KSK/BKM over the next 3 years because of the sheer scale of Beutong and its likely interest to mid/large caps - particularly in the event of success with a deep drill of the strong magnetic anomaly/modelling pointing to the likely presence of a high grade core. If you run the maths the only way to get to a similar valuation uplift to SolGold mentioned by the Arden Partner analyst is by taking a partner at Beutong and fast tracking a major drilling programme to fully evaluate the huge mineralisation potential outside and below the existing resource envelope. Most near surface mineralisation increasingly being found through exploration globally or at the stage of being taken into development, is now in the range of 0.35% to 0.40% copper. At this benchmark Beutong has a very high potential to add a hugely material volume of additional near surface mineralisation outside of the existing resource envelope, never mind in a potential high grade core. | mount teide
24/10/2018 12:20 | Mkt cap is 65m. We are a sitting duck for a takeout. Bhp put up 45m for 5% of Solg. Freeport could buy us for less than they spent on ksk a decade ago. Nows the time for TM to show why he's one of the best. | mr roper
24/10/2018 11:29 | could certainly do with that | tektonik
24/10/2018 11:25 | Nows the time for another cornerstone investor eg new crest taking 5-10%. | mr roper
24/10/2018 11:19 | I'm personally expecting some sort of news/operational update before month end, otherwise will be writing to them directly | tektonik
24/10/2018 10:57 | The drilling mentioned by TM and PB last Friday was a broad hint at a fundraising imho. They seemed totally unphased by the share price catastrophe so maybe it has already been agreed. | charles clore
24/10/2018 10:13 | I sincerely hope we do not have to wait too long for some kind of fundraising. We have some cash to continue limited drilling around KSK and working cap for six months or so. But not enough to perform all the drilling suggested by TM and PB last Friday. Certainly the directors could partake in any fundraising at the agreed price and that would be good to see. As for "shorters", they are a myth. The market is far too thin for that kind of trading. There may well be selling by traders who managed to pick up shares cheaply last week but they will not be making vast profits as it was almost impossible to trade at the extremes of the price movement. I tried, so I know. | horneblower |
