Cheers IanI tend to follow momentum and take small gains. If I can make £20 on £8000 in a day then I'm happy. As always: keep a stopLoss.

Not sure about Bloomberg. I don't deal enough to afford the £10k per year subscription. Anyway bought in today at £20: just following the momentum....

Hi bracke,

Now that's what I call an Ashtead Friday!

I would share your concerns about shorting AHT at the moment, keeping your powder dry unless the price spikes on results seems prudent, and even then, there is an appreciable risk that it doesn't fall back in the traditional manner. (NAI)

Good luck!

Hmmmm....They could but barring an unexpected event probably not, hence my "I will await events".

Hi bracke,

Following my last post, a word of caution, I notice that there have been a number of bullish broker estimates very recently which may influence demand:

07/12 Liberum Cap....Reiterates........Buy...2030
06/12 Deutsche.......Retains...........Hold..1800
05/12 RBC Cap Mkts...Reiterates..Outperform..2400
01/12 Jefferies Intl.Reiterates........Buy...2200
28/11 JP Morgan......Reiterates........Buy...2400

Surely they can't all be wrong? :-)

"I wonder whether if you fancy a short, the period immediately following the results announcement on Tuesday might provide the best opportunity? (no advice intended)"

That thought had crossed my mind. I will await events.

A new All Time Intra Day High - 2007.

A new All Time Closing High - 1978.

Good afternoon bracke

Thanks for your views.

Looks like we lacked the strength to capitalise on this mornings strong start today, but nevertheless we have finished in the blue.

I wonder whether if you fancy a short, the period immediately following the results announcement on Tuesday might provide the best opportunity? (no advice intended)

Naturally as a 'long only' investor I won't be joining you, but I wish you luck!

Is 2000p the new resistance? Mind the gap!

Three trading days to go until Q2 results are announced on 12th, and things are shaping up nicely!

On a day when the market has looked a little jaded, AHT has shown resilience and closed just short of an all time high (1974p), if I'm not mistaken at 1971p...

Good day fenners

Normally it means a major tussle between buyers and sellers i.e. they can't decide on what the share price should be. It is possible that something else occurred such as a share shuffling exercise. We would need to look at the share dealing data to ascertain what happened.

Good day optomistic

Thought you may like to know the the installation of Windows 10 and updates to my laptop completed without any bother.

It's ironic that an old laptop with Windows 7 updates without problem but a year old desktop is a complete mess.

I haven't used my laptop for some time. It runs Windows 7. This afternoon it has started to update to Windows 10 without my say so. Hopefully if it goes rear end up I can revert back yo Windows 7

A few minutes ago a screen came up 'Would I recommend Windows 10'. I'll leave you to imagine my reply!!

AHT has certainly been a good hold for those who have. As for BP, I wish you well with it.

Thanks for that info Bracke, it looks like I will have to do the same, I have a friend who does this work for me but unfortunately he has been most unwell lately so I will have to shelve it for a while.

Good to see AHT doing well for the lucky holders, my impatience has cost me a lot of money selling out too soon. Hoping for a good pick up from BP...but nowhere near as much as AHT would have been. Fingers crossed :-)

The share price made short work of 1940 this morning and a chunky gap in the process.

Good day optomistic

I'm currently using my laptop whilst the desktop is being sorted. Received a 'phone call from the computer man this morning to say he was unable to install updates and would have to totally remove Windows 10 and then install the latest version.

The problem is that the Windows 10 updates are installed automatically i.e. you are not asked if you want them, it just does it. If it is unable to install it tries the next day and the next day ad infinitum!!!

Microsoft know about the problem but because it only affects some users they have not bothered to do anything about it!!!!!!

Good evening bracke...Windows 10 update has made my laptop practically useless. Just use my tower now until I decide to have another go at the laptop, was taking too much of my time so gave up with it.
...and my tablet but no more updates for 10!

Computer problems i.e. Windows 10 updates have taken my attention over the last few days. In the meantime 1940 still resisting and heavy volume. As usual never a dull moment on the Trunp Front.
