09/10/2015 14:07 | Spike at 13.35 to fill the gap at 1043. As far as I am aware there is only one more gap to fill on the upside at 1068 from 20/21 July. | bracke
09/10/2015 12:46 | Topicel Us Elite Gurus are allowed our high horses, it's a perk of the title. "stops for breathers" ==================== That's one way of putting it but those stops aren't random. As for trading, it depends whether one is long or short. Play nicely? I always play nicely! | bracke
09/10/2015 12:35 | Like I said Brackey, you began the high horse bit by referring to my little off-the-cuff remark that I was suggesting £11 by early/mid November. Resistance? All I see is a northerly share trajectory with the usual stops for breathers as peeps taking what has been a decent profit. Trade this at your peril would be my view...resistance or no resistance. Can we now play nicely, as my Mum used to say? Topicel | topicel
09/10/2015 12:23 | ian I Agree. It has broken above the resistance at 1022 and no retrace so far. It does appear to be going for the gap fill at 1043. If/when it does retrace the expectation would be that 1022 would be support. | bracke
09/10/2015 12:06 | bracke Thanks again. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some profit taking before the end of the day, given the solid progress and momentum of the last fortnight. Happy days! | ianwwwhite
09/10/2015 11:37 | Thank you ian If it is able to break above the current resistance the next target is likely to be the gap at 1043 from 21/22 July | bracke
09/10/2015 10:41 | Well read bracke, keep up the good work! | ianwwwhite
09/10/2015 10:33 | Good day Topicel No need to get on your high horse and by the way I am precious, my mum said so. Of course I use 'get out' words us Elite Gurus always do. I never give advice only a view. You will have noted that both of the resistance levels I gave are operating. The FED Minutes did give the impetus to take the share price over the first but it is now held at the second. (In case you did not recognise it that was me blowing my own trumpet. I have to take the opportunity when the occasion presents itself). So what next for the SP? Probably a retrace to test the previous resistance. | bracke
09/10/2015 08:51 | Famous last words but I may even 'target' £11 by the end of October, says he, sucking on a lemon... Goodness, don't you just love the fickleness of the markets, they'll probably take FTSE back up towards 7000 by Xmas! Topicel | topicel
09/10/2015 08:30 | Bracke - no need to get precious about it. You are just sticking your finger in the air too and like any chart will be right or wrong depending on the time it is created. I did not deliberately do anything mon ami. I did not "quote" you at all. I said, ad hoc, the gist of what you said as a quick bulletin board post and not as a thesis that was going to be marked! It is hardly important, but you do sprinkle the words 'if', 'but' and 'maybe' about unsparingly... I like to get to the target, and all your asides and 'let's be clear' political-type language where you hedge your bets based on resistance points etc. aside, you concluded it could make £11 by end of November. You brought me into it with your reply to Laird in the first place. No worries if you're not right, or the other options, btw. Advice from no-one is to be given, let alone trusted/listened too in any seriousness here anyway, or, as you might have noticed from the ADVFN small print at the bottom, we'd be breaking the law... 😉 Topicel | topicel
08/10/2015 18:28 | Topicel You are deliberately misquoting me. I posted: "If it does break above the resistance zones I suggested then £11 by the end of November." The operative part of my post was "If it does break above the resistance zones". You will note that it was resisted at the first resistance level I gave. Depending on the FED Minutes etc later they may provide the impetus to take the share price over both resistance levels.....on the other hand..... | bracke
08/10/2015 17:29 | lol laird, and Bracke reckoned it would do so later that month, so all's good if you're long.... ;) Topicel | topicel
08/10/2015 10:39 | Good day LAIRD My gender has rarely been a mystery to me but beware of assumptions. You need 1100 to breakeven? No problem. Topicel says it is going there by early/mid November. | bracke
08/10/2015 08:18 | Thanks for that DD...think I will insert stops on my positions as I don't fancy going all the way down to 840 again on the back of poor URI results. | lairddavid
07/10/2015 22:21 | URI Q3The company's 2015 third quarter press release will be issued and available at unitedrentals.com after the market close on Wednesday, October 21, 2015.So guess if URI sneezes AHT may need night nurse on Thurs 22nd!.DD | discodave4
07/10/2015 22:06 | Hi Bracke......your gender is at last no longer a mystery! As far as the share price goes, I only need another 100 points to get back to even!! | lairddavid
07/10/2015 16:32 | tt You will find all the regulars on this thread are gentlemen.....most of the time. We do get the occasional unpleasant visitor but they don't stay long. | bracke
07/10/2015 16:07 | good, shame its coming off a little. yes friday ive heard is going to be nice. thanks. so nice to have a gentleman to speak to, the men on the sty thread are appalling. little pee wees | terrys trousers
07/10/2015 15:59 | Good day tt Excluding today the FTSE has risen five consecutive days for 417 and the DOW has rise five out of the last six for 788. This doesn't exclude the possibility of continuing up days but the probability is for a retrace soon. Maybe tomorrow or Friday will be better drying days. All well with me. | bracke
07/10/2015 15:09 | hi bracke, ye it is a lovely day, well on the market, i was going to put my washing out but its just pouring it down now trust you are well | terrys trousers
07/10/2015 12:39 | Good day Topicel AHT does tend to do its own thing but if it is going to follow the market the DOW and S&P 500 will set the direction. If it does break above the resistance zones I suggested then £11 by the end of November. | bracke
07/10/2015 12:24 | Thanks Bracke. I feel the recent reversal has been swift enough for a breather, but maybe not if it pushes into £10 territory this week? The general trend and signs for an £11 price here this month remain good. I missed the £10 target by a few days last quarterly results so maybe early-to-mid November is more likely? Topicel | topicel
07/10/2015 12:04 | The share price has been moving up well but is now approaching some probable resistance zones The Daily ML at 1010 and the last swing high at 1022. If it is able to move above those two zones resistance at the Daily SMA 200 currently at 1075 is highly likely. | bracke
05/10/2015 09:28 | Indeed DD, and the announcements by the Tories will also give the sector a warmer feeling, particularly the funding for infrastructure projects Mr. Osbourne is pumping today... All smoke and mirrors no doubt, but as long as the City likes it! Topicel | topicel |
