Underlying EPS has grown by an annual compounded rate of 53.2% over the past three years. Underlying EPS is projected to grow by another 24% to 77.9 pence this year, which implies a forward P/E of 13.6. 22/7/2015 09:12 | a 25% cut in price target is madness, especially as the stock was above their target when they made it. Its not even a cooling off they are suggesting but a full stop to growth. Where is there any factual basis to their forecast other than their take on trends and possible effects. I am worried tho that they might have sight of URI info before us. Im sure the FSA have a name for that.... | clarky5150
22/7/2015 08:41 | Broker downgrade:(ShareCast News) - Ashtead took a hit on Wednesday after a double downgrade by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, which cut the stock to 'underperform' from 'buy' and slashed its price target to 1,000p from 1,300p, pointing to a "triple whammy" of worrying trends."We have become increasingly concerned that the rental rate environment has weakened in recent months and the outlook for further rate growth from the current cyclical peak looks increasing unlikely," the bank said.Bank of America said its concern was based on the shake-out from the oil and gas slowdown which is having an impact on second-hand values at auction, weaker commentary from United Rentals, and the fact that elevated levels of new equipment in the supply chain could add pressure to Oil Equipment Manufacturing prices and therefore yields.DD | discodave4

22/7/2015 08:36 | Apple is the US' largest company. Their forecast for the coming quarter was disappointing last night - the shares fell 7%. It probably is seen as a barometer of the US economy generally so possibly putting back an interest rate rise. The dollar has been strong anticipating this rise and Ashtead similarly as most of its income is generated across the pond. Just my view. | broadwood
22/7/2015 08:22 | I just don't see it having any correlation to the drop of those. Shame as posted decent results yet still weakness and now below support levels | solanki2000
22/7/2015 08:19 | Think it may be an over reaction to the post market falls of Apple (-6.9%) and Microsoft (-4%).DD | discodave4

21/7/2015 15:23 | Today the share price is having another look at the last swing low and the Median Line at 1044. It did dip below to 1036 but was supported at the Median Line and has moved back up to 1044 as I type. It's under pressure. | bracke

21/7/2015 10:39 | AHT hasnt made any gains of note since September 14. This is turning into a poor year all round. | clarky5150
21/7/2015 10:37 | Aye to that. Cant understand where its going wrong for URI. They were valued far greater than AHT historically. Lets hope the soft month hasnt turned into a soft quarter. | clarky5150
20/7/2015 20:42 | URI down 2.3% @ 7930 last at this level Feb. 2014. They report Q2 results 22 July. I think we are tarred with the same brush. Lets hope their results are better than expected or we will have a long wait untill our results. I live in hope with a little paranoia. Cheers | 2flatpack
