Apart from the barber boom, which did not work out and had to be reversed. I presume other countries have tried the same but I am unaware if any had success.

What Truss/Kwarteng are doing appears to be very risky, rather like putting all ones money on Red or Black. I hope it is successful otherwise it will be 'dark' times ahead.

Good day Mr bThanks for the pretty chart :)The yanks must be loving all these cheap UK businesses up for grabs. Before my time but no doubt the doom mongers will be quoting the "barber boom" following Truss's tax cuts.

Good day disc0

An excellent post. I always like to throw in an 'all things being equal' because they never are.

Time for an updated chart which shows the following:

1 The gap at 3938 has been filled.

2 The rise from the June low to the August high has retraced to the fib at 61.8%.

3 There is the possibility of support at approx 3713.

4 The next gap to the down side is at 2889 from 02 November 2020.

Consulting the cat entrails suggests that barring the demise of Mr Putin or something equally positive the market is likely heading lower and the share price testing the June low.

Putting the current share price price action into perspective the share price immediately prior to the Pandemic was 2800. There then followed interest rates near to zero and the FED pumping Billion of $ into the markets.

All of the above is based on all things being equal.

Mr b"He needs to post a few charts with all sorts of lines in different colours and formats."Yep, I for one love a pretty chart, if I can see similarities with certain constellations, or cartoon characters, or animals etc., in all those lines and fibo thingy's, then in my book he will have cracked it.....but not as a TA guru necessarily, as the commentary also has to be sound and include numerous "ifs" "buts" and "maybe's" as well :)

The BoE have stated their target is 2% inflation odds on they will undershoot or overshoot which is to be expected. If the 'pain' becomes too much an undershoot is more likely i.e. 2.5% or 3.00%.

I did read that the possibility of the government taking back control of the interest rate is a consideration.

In his dreams. He doesn't get anywhere near the first rung of the Guru ladder. He needs to post a few charts with all sorts of lines in different colours and formats.

MrbThat's my point. But the point is there's no point pointing out "forecasts", pick a number, the BoE are never right.....are they!.Did I miss the profit warning here or what?

disc0 I take no pleasure in pointing out the error of your information.... maybe just a little.

You will see in the link below that annual inflation has been below 2% on a number of occasions. I do hope you are not going to suggest the data is incorrect!

Good day MrbIts been 2% target for 19 years now. Has it been 2% during all of that period, nope :)0.5% for another 6 months job done (already raised it 2.25%?), job done.

Good day disc0

Inflation is expected to reach 13% (see link). 13%-6% = 7%. Inflation target is 2% therefore a reduction of 5% required. Perhaps 0.5% should have been 0.75%.

Given the cost of energy was contributing about 6% to the BoE inflation forecast and Truss has now kindly capped it at a lower cost, then IMO even the +0.5% was possibly too much now?, beyond my pay grade.

Yesterdays volume of 2.5 million does not equate with the price range. I suspect a lot of the volume occurred after normal trading hours and is reflected in todays share price

======================================================================

Now I may be a little slow on the uptake at times but given the share price has dropped to 4000 today/yesterday it is difficult to reconcile the price target and the price action?
