If the drop is over AHT should be ok for approx 2330.

It's the US 10 Year Treasury Yield which is driving the market.

RECESSION !
What recession?
With S/P in a long term up trend ,I always buy at the 200 day.
Can't see any reason not to.

I see the current situation in the US not as a Black Swan Event, but a Don't panic Captain Mainwaring! opportunity.
I do not have a fixed idea on how much pain I can stand but I suspect my AHT shares are a long term investment no matter which way they go.

Sold two weeks ago at 2370 as felt the company was not ready for high wages and/or recession in US. AHT is very high on price to book value at x4 with low-ish p/e at 11, suggesting all earnings are distributed to shareholders and, if hard times come, AHT may need to borrow heavily. With 10year climbing higher, future profits would suffer from borrowings. Sorry to say, but this is likely to drop much further despite good dividends, I'd speculate it'd reach 1800 and lower if pound recovers, but as I am out, I would not be studying reports further.

I wish you well with your purchase but something for you to ponder if you have not already done so.

If the US were to continue the fall it is likely that AHT would go with it. If that were to occur have you decided at what share price you would sell your shares albeit at a loss. Yes you could continue to hold and wait for them to return to profit but that may be a long time. Selling is always a difficult decision but worth giving it some thought.

Hopefully the Santa Rally will do the business and it will be tinsel all the way.

Low for day 2174. Closed at 2181.

As I type the S&P and DOW are down 0.70%.I suspect that providing they do not drop much further AHT will be supported at the closing level.

I'm hoping that Smithson, being an IPO and cash buyer, will be able to take advantage of the market 'correction' to buy quality stocks at good prices.

No, in the current market, I think the balance of risk v reward for AHT is not quite right yet, although the price has fallen past where I expected to deal.

In the meantime some of the funds I had earmarked have been utilised to subscribe for the Smithson IT offer, in my mind, a better prospect in the current market (no advice intended).

I sent a message to AHT around mid-day drawing attention to yesterday's erroneous buyback RNS, and subsequently a correction was issued at 15.32 ....... Coincidence or not? You're welcome AHT :-)

A 2 for 1 share split is a fabulous idea and I think they should do it immediately !
Lots of companies have said in the past that having more shares at a lower price makes them more accessible and tradeable.

So it has my wholehearted support.
