Mabel, who is your broker?

No shares are owned by the individual. If you feel like this change broker.

Thanks all for your responses to my query.

For me it is a matter of trust and I would prefer my ISA shares to be in certificate

form in my possession, with my name on rather than in my broker's name.

If precious metals can be hypothecated, then shares in nominee accounts can also.

Just as 100 people are led to believe they all own the same oz of gold, I am

asking myself if it is the same for shares in nominee accounts.

Isn't anyone else here even remotely suspicious?

The problem tends not to be if you get your assets back it when!! Reyker went into administration a year ago and investors are still waiting for access to their assets

The resultant 23% is subject to cash injection into salinbas by ozaltin. Proccea will have to buy their cut of salinbas and we await the terms of their buy in either by services , cash or combination. This is one of the most important points to be finalised. It's assumed that the money from Proccea and ozaltin will forward the salinbas project significantly forward at no cost to AAU. If more money is required by the three parties after the promised monies are utilised then the parties will presumably need to fund either by debt cash flow etc. This doesn't concern me because I believe by the time the ozaltin and Proccea buy in money has been utilised the true potential of salinbas will truely be understood.

Agree. Client assets are held separately. It's similar to investment platform rules.

They have to hold your assets in a Nominee account and they aren't allowed to touch your assets if they do you'd be covered by compensation scheme.

Snotra,

I agree it is the broker's problem, but my ISA is with them, so that is MY problem.

I am concerned for what is already supposedly mine - bought and paid for already -

rather than for this deal for which they want money before it is due.

Mable, surely your broker's credit/liquidity risk is their problem. I can't see why you would have any obligation to settle it before the settlement date.

I'm a relative newcomer here, can I clarify that the 23% we will be left with after the deal is a fully free carry, and not dilutable by further deals by the new majority owner?

Interesting. This is usually a sign of volatility, primarily in the negative sense! But I don't see that here.

Icandc,

Yes, I know that in normal circumstances T2 is the usual. That is my usual method

of buying, but knowing my funds were not immediately accessible I bought T10 and

paid fractionally extra for that privilege. I've done that many times in the past

and never been asked for payment before settlement day.

biggles,

My concern is that I bought on extended settlement (T10) because funds were not

immediately accessible.

I was buying with a certificate NOT nominee.

My concern is why do they want the funds NOW when I have never ever paid late and

they know me well.

You're not the only one JAF, the app is really unreliable today, getting sporadic "unable to connect" messages. I've had to shut the app down and reopen several times.

A good day but disappointed that the company did not feel it had to acknowledge that it had put a date in the public domain and failed to meet it.
