The "thumb down" is a badge of honour, two is almost a Knighthood.

Can't be the poster you mention Plasybryn as he is not blue and a paying member so can not vote down.

Never heard of him to be honest Plasybryn but we are ticked down twice now. Rather sad isn't it someone hiding behind a thumbs down instead of actually commenting.

Soulsauce: could our down ticker be borderterrior1 on the Hummingbird thread? Just a thought. I suspect it's the same person hitting both you & me.

In favour of the deal going through:
To maximise our potential and become a premier gold miner in Turkey is going to need capital for Tavsan, possible exciting underground mine at Kiziltepe and one or more mines in the hot gold corridor (Salinbas, Ardale, Hizarliyayla, Derinkoy North.) Who knows yet what we will need in Cyprus as well? All that capital expenditure isn’t really feasible imo for such a small player, even with Proccea, well at least to achieve anything significant in a reasonable timeframe. Gold is strong & due to get stronger. We need to accelerate development and exploration to realise our potential in this ever strengthening gold market. Our new partner hopefully gives us the key to do just that. To unlock short, medium & long term potential. A smaller slice yes, but of a much bigger cake. Finally, I'm also acutely aware that Companies that introduced confirmed dividend strategies very often transform as well. Just take a look at what happened to AAZ after it introduced a defined dividend strategy. An amazing multi bagger turn around. I'm really hoping for some concrete news on the Deal as planned by 30th June, just 7 working days away. Would you want to be out when the news breaks?

I'm loving this sideways consolidation...so healthy

A nice steady staircase. Gathering momentum for the next step up.

By the timing - three buys at 4.05 and the last at 4.1?Not shown in that order but that's the games they love to play!

Shortarm. I'm not convinced they were buys. Possibly 2 batches of 150k shares BED and ISA'd? MMs would have made £75 for not doing much as usual!

Think expectation is they won't be in small cap mining pool for too long and if facility for divis is there then all the better

Very few income investors fish in the small cap mining pool. It's a sign that the company is self-sufficient, but anyone investing in AAU won't be doing so on the basis of making 5% a year

Compromise to me is a small divi which is what I've always advocated. I'd have too much tax to pay

...And equally, a large number of investors won't buy into a company that DOES pay a divident. To some peeps paying a divi suggests a company has gone ex-growth, and has nothing better to do with its cash than give it away to shareholders.

A huge number of investors simply won't buy into a company that doesn't pay a dividend. To them it's simply a pre-requisite, so the awareness and exposure expands in those circles, irrespective of whether or not the money may have been better spend going back into the ground.
